Description
The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and connect with their community.
As the Learning & Development Manager, you will design and deliver a variety of professional development and learning opportunities aligned with The Arc's strategic plan, culture, and person-centered philosophy. With a focus on leadership at every level, the Learning & Development Manager will provide ongoing coaching support to people managers and other employees to improve performance and quality of services. This position is responsible for supporting portions of The Arc's Leadership Institute, specifically the Manager Foundations courses. The Learning & Development Manager will also provide ongoing coaching and development to members of the Leadership Council.
The essential functions of the role include designing and delivering expert-level and engaging professional development opportunities for employees at all levels of the organization while providing ongoing consultations using the "Coach Approach" method and working with outside content providers to customize and deliver training aligned to The Arc's needs. This position manages and supports the Learning & Development Facilitator and acts as the organization's subject matter expert on topics related to leadership development, change management, DEI, Coach Approach, and other assigned areas. In this role, you will regularly partner with the Director of Talent Development and other stakeholders throughout The Arc's People & Culture division to achieve goals and objectives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in organizational development, education, or a related field and 5 years of experience creating, leading, and facilitating management and professional development coaching and/or training sessions. A master's degree in organizational development, human resources, or adult education is preferred, as is an APTD Certification through the Association for Talent Development. You must be an expert facilitator of multi-dimensional trainings with a demonstrated track record of facilitating interactive trainings for adult learners.
