Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The University of Maryland is seeking an IT Systems Analyst, Senior Storage Administrator.
DUTIES INCLUDE:Integrate the various storage platforms with Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and Windows operating systems and the server hosting environment.Integrate the various storage platforms with ServiceNow environment for automated storage provisioning and customer billback.User account creation and provisioning of mass storage for internal and external customers.Performance monitoring, tuning, capacity analysis, and usage trend reporting for all storage platforms.Provide feedback to the storage engineering team and assist with capacity planning.Provide resolution for warnings, alerts, events or any other storage associated issues adhering to all the applicable SLA timelines.Assist with storage related problem diagnosis for system and application problems.Document SAN/NAS layouts and standard operating procedures.Ability to work in Data Center for hardware and SAN network device installation and configuration.Serve as a primary resource to provide expertise with investigating and designing integration mechanisms between local and cloud storage resources.Help architect secure, stable platforms and provide guidance and professional experience in current and future storage strategies.Design replicated and redundant storage systems to support mission critical applications.Help design and implement disaster recovery plans for the enterprise. Assist with yearly disaster recovery exercises.Design and implement regular tests to assure infrastructure redundancy is functioning as designed.Design, implement and maintain SAN storage switch configuration and iSCSI network design.Benefits SummaryTop Benefits and Perks:

Minimum Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in information technology, cybersecurity or in a closely related technical field.
Experience:
5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT storage design, strategy, operation and recover OR Master's degree or foreign equivalent in information technology, cybersecurity or in a closely related technical field and 3 years of experience in IT storage design, strategy, operation and recovery.SAN and NAS administration, including fibre channel, iSCSI, NFS and SMB protocols.iSCSI network configuration and management.SAN fabric administration, zoning and configuration.performing firmware upgrades on storage and switch devices.storage provisioning, de-allocation, performance monitoring, capacity management, and problem diagnosis.working in both Windows and Linux environments.
