Primary Duties
Responsibilities:
Category expert responsible for driving business growth and performance at product portfolio level by using all key levers of commercial, product, engineering and operational excellenceKey performance indicators pertain to portfolio and new product revenue and sales growth, as well as, contribution margin healthSpearheads and is held accountable for overall new product development and project throughput, mitigating any obstacles that may eruptStrategically develop annual and 3-Year category plans based on market potential, customer opportunity and new product platformsLead the team to define the category "Right To Win" and category SWOT updateDrive market analysis including analysis of competitive landscape, market segmentationProvide support and leadership to the product teams in performing product trend and product gap analysis. Analyze new product opportunities and market conditions through trade shows, customer visits and field researchManage product portfolio in term of profitability, market share, growth rate, market segmentation and different life cycle phases. Complete perpetual gap analysesPrimary lead for coordinating and driving program activities that require a high degree of data collection, consolidation and project management across business unitAnnual pricing reviewsSKU RationalizationSLA Milestone reviews and Process UpdatesProduct Portion of Customer Category Line ReviewsAd hoc initiatives that require a higher degree of cross platform coordination and executive visibilityDrive clear, effective communication to Director (and above) informing of business opportunities, threats or roadblocks and presenting a feasible alternative solutionResponsible for co-developing and co-leading customer pricing, sourcing and service strategies in support of category / channel growth initiatives with corresponding sales, category management, and supply chain team membersSupervisory Responsibilities:
This role may have first-hand responsibility for the development and coaching of Product Managers, Assistant Product Managers and/or Product CoordinatorsIndirect responsibility leading a cross-functional team comprised of engineers, material managers and procurement professionalsMain supervisory responsibility is to mentor newer talent, increase focus & prioritization, and to create consistency in order to drive new product developmentQualifications
Influential and results-driven cross-functional team leader that thrives in an entrepreneurial fast-paced work environment, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution settingStrong preference for automotive technical expert; however, must have proven experience managing a diverse product portfolio of high growth, declining, and complex category varietyProven experience launching multiple, impactful consumer product requirements and developing supporting sales/marketing strategies to help commercialize its successDynamic customer interfacing skillset with a strong ability to change presentation style to suit audience for an effective delivery accompanied by advanced PowerPoint presentation tacticsMust possess a highly analytical mindset, with a thorough understanding of a category's financial health through P&L management, coupled with a solid understanding of the product development process and operations management to effectively drive positive financial impactMust possess strong project management skillset and can drive effective communication at all levels of organizationFluent knowledge of Microsoft Office software and specifically Excel including pivot tables and v-lookupsPhysical Requirement: Must have the capability to lift 20 poundsWorking Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the contributor may be required to reach, swivel, carry items from building to another, speak, and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.Education / Experience
B.S. degree in Business preferred7+ Years' experience in Product Management with growing responsibilities and proven wins
