The controls software platform product manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a cloud-based lighting control system. This role combines expertise in lighting technology, software product management experience and knowledge of cloud computing to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth. The position involves supporting integrations with third-party systems, expanding the Current's controls platform's capabilities and critically prioritizing product features based on voice of customer insights. Work location is preferred to be in Austin, TX, Cleveland, OH, or Greenville, SC. Alternate locations can be discussed.

Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Development
Define and execute the product roadmap for Current's enterprise cloud-based lighting controls platformConduct market research to identify customer needs and industry trendsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and featuresLead voice of customer initiatives to gather critical user insightsPrioritize product features based on customer feedback, market demands, and business objectivesTechnical Leadership
Manage the product backlog for the cloud-based platformWork closely with development teams to ensure successful product deploymentStay up-to-date with cloud technologies and lighting control innovationsOversee integration efforts with third-party building management systems, HVAC controls, and energy monitoring solutionsUser Experience and Customer Engagement
Ensure the platform delivers an optimal user experience across web and future mobile interfacesGather, analyze, and synthesize user feedback to drive product improvementsCollaborate with UX designers to create intuitive interfaces for the lighting control system and associated mobile appsConduct regular customer interviews and surveys to maintain a deep understanding of user needs and preferencesIntegration and Expansion
Develop strategies for seamless integration with third-party building management systemsCoordinate with HVAC control system providers to ensure compatibility and data exchangeIncorporate and enhance energy monitoring capabilities into the platformLead the expansion of the platform to include smartphone app-based controls and monitoringFeature Prioritization and Roadmap Management
Develop and maintain a robust feature prioritization frameworkBalance customer requests, technical feasibility, and business value in feature decisionsCommunicate product roadmap and prioritization decisions to stakeholders effectivelyContinuously refine the product backlog based on evolving customer needs and market conditionsBusiness and Financial Acumen
Develop go-to-market strategies for new features, integrations, and mobile appsMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product successContribute to pricing strategies and revenue growth initiativesEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field5+ years of product management experience in a technology-based company3+ years of experience with cloud-based services or platformsExperience with web and mobile app development and managementProven track record in feature prioritization and roadmap managementTechnical Skills
Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and architecturesFamiliarity with lighting control systems, building management systems, and IoT devicesExperience with agile development methodologiesKnowledge of API integration and third-party system compatibilityProficiency in using product management and customer feedback toolsSoft Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesLeadership experience in cross-functional team environmentsExceptional ability to synthesize customer feedback and translate it into actionable product featuresAdditional Requirements
Knowledge of the lighting industry, HVAC systems, and relevant regulationsExperience with ERP systems and digital transformation initiativesAbility to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms for various stakeholdersUnderstanding of energy monitoring and management principlesFamiliarity with mobile app development processes and best practicesDemonstrated success in implementing voice of customer programsCompensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $108,000-$135,000.
