Job Description
Responsible for driving down and minimizing the cost of purchased materials and supplies needed for the production operation. Assists manufacturing achieve on-time shipment goals by ensuring availability of needed parts. Assists sales achieve their goals by maintaining a wide range of available products. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage Purchasing department to maximize efficiency and versatility within the team.Thorough understanding of computerized systems pertaining to Order Entry, Bills of Material, Shop Floor Control, Master Production Planning, Inventory Control and Material Requirements PlanningPrepares purchase orders that clearly describe the product ordered, including the type, class, grade, or other precise identification.Conducts the placing, revising and follow-up of purchase orders both local and overseas.Searches for alternate suppliers to reduce cost of repetitive purchases and/or high-priced purchases and maximize gross margin.Works to reduce slow move inventory and operate at optimal inventory level.Organizes and conducts analysis on cost of goods data. Provides a monthly reporting package.Comply with all Fluidyne Fluid Power Employee Conduct and Work Rules; comply with all policies contained in the Employee Handbook.Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.College degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration.Three to five years' experience in purchasing preferably with sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP, ERP) and related software preferred.Skill Requirements
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, tariffs, and percentages.Ability to read and understand documents, to write routine correspondence.Ability to communicate with Local and International customers/vendors in a pleasing yet firm manner.Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Attention to detail and ability to focus on task assignments to meet production goals.Ability to provide timely updates and forecast dates to senior management.Ability to function in a team-based environment.Strong attention to detail.Good problem-solving skills.Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Self-motivated with ability to work under minimal supervision.Hydraulic Industry knowledge a plus.International Supply Chain Management a plus.Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, type, and read.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.Must be able to pass criminal background checks, pre-placement health appraisals, and drug screening.Work environment regularly exposes employees to a light noise level (phone conversations).Employee may be required to enter the Company's shop area and visit customer sites where the noise level may be moderate to high.
