Summary:

Dometic Marine's facility in Huntsville, AL specializes in mobile power solutions and manufactures engine ignition replacement parts, DC charging systems, and battery monitoring systems for boats.

We are looking for a qualified Product Manager with an electrical or electronics background to help us drive our Mobile Power Solutions (MPS) products portfolio for best-in-class user experience. You will be working with our Product Development team located in Huntsville, AL to further develop our MPS portfolio while working with other Dometic Product Managers managing products such as air conditioning, digital switching, trim tabs, refrigeration etc.

The Product Manager will support programs for new product development and stay current with market requirements and competitor market shares. You will be evaluated on your contribution to revenue growth, gross margin, and performance quality of the products you manage.

Main responsibilities:



Own and Drive the MPS Portfolio:

Oversee the portfolio of MPS marine products, ensuring competitive positioning and optimal product lifecycle management. Propose end-of-life strategies and drive modularization to manage product complexity.



Customer and Market Insight:

Maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer experiences, needs, segmentation, and competitor offerings. Use this insight to support product development prioritization.



Product Ideation and Roadmap Development:

Generate innovative ideas to fill product gaps and grow market share. Develop comprehensive product business plans, including investment needs, to ensure the right products are built correctly.



Voice of the Customer:

Act as the internal advocate for the customer, ensuring their needs and feedback are central to product development. Engage with key customers to develop strong relationships and gather insights.



Strategic Product Management:

Define mechanical, electrical, and UI/UX product requirements. Develop and manage product vision white papers, roadmaps, presentations, and formal business cases. Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and externally.



Pricing and Profitability:

Set strategic pricing guardrails and drive product price positioning. Conduct margin analysis and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability.



Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with sales, marketing, and public relations teams to define product positioning, unique selling points (USPs), branding, and promotional strategies. Ensure product launch priorities are met and that promotional plans align with product line strategy.



Continuous Improvement:

Solicit feedback from the field and warranty information to drive continuous product improvement. Preempt potential problems and provide effective solutions to support new products or product changes.

Requirements

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree from an accredited college/university, Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred, MBA is helpful

• Strong technical knowledge of power systems and hardware development

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or engineer with electrical/electronic products

• Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to learn other applications quickly

• Proficient at merchandizing and promoting products to target markets

• Strong analytical skills to develop market forecasts and summarize data for broader audiences
