SR. ENGINEERING TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Project Details:
This person will be joining a team to support large projects already in flight in different stages- working with engineering, sw development, electronics design, app development, marketing, etc. for their pool division (water pumps, sanitizers, lights in pool, customizations, automation, etc.)*This is an onsite role in Apex, NC 5 days/week
Must Have Skills:
10+ years' experience as a Senior Engineering Technical PM in the consumer product field
Hands on experience with the manufacturing of the consumer product- understanding of how products are designed & produced by the people/companyDeep understanding of net newlifecycle of designing, developing, and delivering hard assets (consumer products)
Experience managing and leading all communication for large-scale projectsLeading cross-functional teams and programs- engineering, software development, marketing, electronics design, application development, etc.5+ years of managing project teams developing connected consumer product products that include hardware and with embedded firmware, software, and AppHighly detail oriented, organized, and organizationally agile individual preferred with innate/natural relationship building communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsNice to Have Skills:
Pool consumer product experiencePMP CertificationEducation/Certification Requirements:
B.S. degree in Engineering, or other technical discipline, from an accredited institution (MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus).
Day to day Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing medium to large scale, technically complex, New Product Development and or Value Engineering projects and have portfolio oversight.Leads System Level Project oversight with a strong sense of independence and autotomy but guided by cooperative collaboration with senior subject matter experts.Leads project teams through Pentair’s Stage-Gate Product Development process from concept (ideation) to post release with strong sense of urgency. This may include the facilitation of development brainstorming Kaizen events, and post-launch activities intended to support a smooth transition into production.Lead the parallel path development of a manufacturing production lines, including the design of fixtures and End-of Line test equipment through IQ,OQ,PQ approvals (Hardware, Software, and Firmware)Chair project meetings with a focus on scope control, schedule updates, budget tracking, and risk management throughout the life of the projectProvide input into process improvements and new processes, systems or operational plans in support of business strategies.Project Scope may include design and development of hardware (including injection molded tooling and parts), PCBA electronics, connected products hardware, Software Development (SW), and/or Web & Mobile Applications (iOS/Android).Project activities may include facilitation of development Blitz or brainstorming Kaizen events, chair project meetings, update task, track budget (spend), and resource progress on weekly schedule updates, and logs issues, risks, Lessons learned, and documents contingency plans for all projects.Collaborates with engineering, product management, operations, supply chain, finance and all other stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical project milestones and deliverables.Manages the project with tight control of critical path activities, and holds the teams accountable to on-time project deliverables and milestones.Leads weekly cross-functional project meetings and maintain minutes/notes/action itemsContinuously gathers feedback from all project team members to track progress and mitigate risk.Identifies project related issues and risks, documents all risks in the risk database, and escalates to sponsor’s and Functional Management early to facilitate mitigation before they effect critical path.Maintains awareness of technical progress and risks for assigned projects, confers with technical personnel to resolve issues, and drives corrective actions.Confers with project personnel to resolve problems, the Sr. Engineering Project Manager is expected to have sufficient knowledge and awareness to recognize when technical problems may exist and to proactively identity and initiate corrective actions to avoid scope change and/or schedule slip.Coordinates project activities with cross-functional team members to ensure project goals and requirements are met on schedule and within budget.Prepares project status reports and facilitates both technical and non-technical meetings, design reviews in order to keep stakeholders up-to-date and able to support risk/issue mitigation requestsDevelops and maintains technical and project documentation, including project/process deliverables.TSG is an equal opportunity employer.
