ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Observe, coach, and provide leadership to staff to effectively implement curricula and monitor curriculum implementation and fidelity.Identify and create training and professional development opportunities to better support individualized learning and improve teaching practices. Utilizes coaching and staff evaluation to identify staff development needs.She/he/they provides opportunities for 3-5 year old teaching staff to be observed and receive feedback and models of effective teacher practices.Support a positive emotional environment in the classroom by modeling and monitoring respectful language and appropriate practice.Assist teaching staff to attain well-organized learning environments with developmentally appropriate schedules, lesson plans, and indoor and outdoor learning experiences that provide adequate opportunities for choice, play, exploration, and experimentation.Assist in identification and development of annual school readiness goals aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five.Monitor quality of collected observational data, assessment strategies, and lesson plans.Assure all sites adhere to strictest standards of health and safety.Serve as an advocate for children and families through participation in IEP development. Monitor and provide feedback on individual plans for children suspected of disabilities or with certified plans.Support center goals and translate policies, developmentally appropriate practice, curriculum, and standards to parents.Assist in developing supportive relationships between teacher, child, and family within the context of culture and community.Provide coaching and support for the implementation of research based teaching practices that support the development of dual language learners.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or related field,

required.Master's degree,

preferred.PEL with endorsements in Early Childhood Education (Type 04)

required.ESL endorsement or enrolled in ESL endorsement program,

required.EC SPED Approval or enrolled in EC Sped approval program,

required.Supervisory or coaching experience,

required.Minimum of four (4) years of early childhood professional experience,

required.Must have access to a vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance to perform essential job functionsAdvanced writing and communication skills, knowledge of data analysis, and reflective leadership.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.SALARY:

Compensation is commensurate with years of related experience, position requirements, and candidate qualifications. The average salary for the position is $60,000Metropolitan Family Services offers a very generous benefits packet to our professionals:
