As Manager of YETI's Design Engineering team for Outdoor Living, you'll lead a team critical to the success of creating, launching, and sustaining YETI products. In this role, you'll manage the team responsible for bridging the gap from ideation to production, designing with manufacturing in mind while pushing the envelope of what is possible for the best product performance and user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of Design Engineers who are responsible for supporting new product development and existing product sustainment

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the key Design Engineering processes and tools

• Manage resources according to business needs and priorities driven by product roadmap and sustaining intake processes

• Actively engage teams in key deliverable reviews, brainstorms, and Design and Engineering reviews

• Approve key project engineering deliverables throughout the product development process

• Build a team culture that fosters critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration

• Coach and support staff to ensure individual and team success. Set individual and team goals and objectives, create development plans and oversee performance assessment process

• Inform product roadmap based on performance, quality, cost, and feasibility

• Manage operating expenditure budget including T&E, training, software, and equipment

Qualifications and Attributes:

• At least 6 years of experience in consumer product development

• At least 2 years of experience leading and developing technical staff

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience

• Experience in chair and seating system design and development is preferred.

• Expertise in mechanisms and structures is required.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.

• Experience managing complex workflows in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

• Experience working with an international team.

• Proficient in 2D, 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)

• Experience with plastics manufacturing (injection molding a must)

• Experience with multi-component assemblies (mechanisms a plus)

• Experience with metal component fabrication

• End-to-end product development experience

• Experience working directly with Marketing and Industrial Design teams

• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, and PPAP utilization
