Our client, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana, is growing again!
The Development Manager for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana (RMHCCIN) will achieve the organization's fundraising goals by leading annual giving campaigns initiatives, foundation grant writing, and the management of donor portfolios. The Development Manager will participate in prospect identification and donor research and work with the other Development and Communications team members to identify partnership opportunities.
The Development Manager must be a responsible individual who can work independently and has excellent people skills, computer knowledge, and the ability to travel.
Duties & Responsibilities
Development ManagementDevelop and maintain a portfolio of donors through the donor development stages of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for RMHCCIN and its programsPartner with the Chief Advancement Officer in all aspects of planning and implementing the major gifts campaign, including cultivation and solicitation, donor recognition, etc.Oversee all in-house donor acknowledgments, accurate record keeping of donorsOversee the strategy and execution of an individual donor program to grow the donor pool of individuals making gifts of $100+ and achieve individual giving revenue goalsManage all cultivation and stewardship activities for annual donors, including the creation and execution of stewardship reports, thank-you calls, welcome mailings, tours, and personal visits as neededEngage volunteers, board members, and staff in the donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process.Explore online giving strategies in collaboration with the marketing teamHelps the Chief Advancement Officer and participate in the creation and implementation of departmental budgets and plansManage the proposal development process (for corporate, foundation, and government proposal applications) from start to finish.Lead all aspects of grant cycles, including pre-award activities budget proposals; post-award activities, budget modifications, monitoring spending, and meeting with program administrators; and close-out activities, including reconciliations and financial reportingPerforms other duties as assignedOutreach
Update literature for correspondence communication in relation to daily and major giving donationsWork with Development team to ensure outreach calls and intake calls are being accurately recorded in donor database and that new members added to the database are appropriately screened for donor analyticsManage outsourced direct mail program: set annual calendar, write draft copy for letters (as needed), secure IMF leadership approvals, send emails and brochures, cultivate mailing lists for each mailing, work with design, print, and mailing vendor(s)Responsible for annual fund giving through in-house mailingsQualifications
Excitement about the RMHCCIN mission with a passion for serviceThree to five years of progressive development responsibility and related experienceAt least two years of experience in supervisionBachelor's degree preferred, equivalent work experience acceptable if in nonprofit development/fundraising, sales/business development, marketing, communications, and/or revenue growth combined with nonprofit experienceExperience in hospitality desirableFluency in working with fundraising databasesProven ability to develop and execute innovative solutions to complex problemsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain collaborative relationships within the organization and with external partnersAbility to work well under pressure and be adaptableComfortable communicating with diverse individuals and groups (cultures, social, etc.)Ability to build strong, effective relationships with RMHCCIN team, stakeholders, families, and our communityHigh level of personal integrity and proven experience in maintaining discretion and confidentiality
