SUMMARY
The Associate Product Manager will drive the profitable growth of the JOANN private brand business (Sewing, Seasonal, Craft) through innovative, trend correct, and competitively differentiated product exceeding our customers' expectations for value and style. The Associate Product Manager will lead a team in the strategy development through successful execution of product offerings for specific categories of business. Under the supervision of the Manager of Product Development, the Associate Product Manager will collaborate with merchants to develop strategic direction and lifestyle-appropriate assortments. This position has direct responsibility of the product development functions for specific product categories, and reports to a Manager of Product Development. This starts from the ideation phase through the final development of product to be sold at JOANN. The Associate Product Manager will need to work collaboratively with all cross-functional partners for smooth execution and for evaluation of assigned category success.
JOB DUTIESStrategize and build trend relevant assortments and key items in accordance with the Joann merchandising strategyWork directly with agents/suppliers to develop product from ideation to executionCommunicate sample comments/approvals to suppliers through product lifecycle; initial development through PP sampleManage the product development lifecycle executing to the MLC datesEvaluate market trends to seek out future opportunities and drive price/value relationshipCollaborate with cross functional partners to obtain product performance results to drive future developmentLead weekly PD meetings with cross-functional partnersSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision of product development functions for assigned category and will assist the Manager of Product Development in duties deemed appropriate.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Brand Management, or Fashion Merchandising
Experience Minimum: 4+ years of experience in Merchandising, Brand Management, Product Development or Sourcing.
Experience Preferred: 3-5 years of relevant experience in Sourcing or another Product Development role
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role requires in-person attendance 4 days a week at the Store Support Center (SSC) located in Hudson, OH. Flexibility to work remotely when requested is determined by management and business needs.Domestic and/or international travel required.Sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity.Move around an office space and between buildings on a large campus, including reaching for files, retail product, supplies, or equipment, as well as the ability to adapt to various workstation setups.Work standard business hours and extended hours as needed based on task and project demands.Utilization of all communication styles - written, verbal, electronic options.Lift and carry office supplies, documents, retail product or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds as needed for tasks such as organizing or setting up workstations.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
