Through the UC Davis Energy Efficiency Institute (EEI), the Materials Decarbonization and Sustainability Center (MDSC) is seeking a Program Manager who will work with the Center's Director, Professor Sabbie Miller, and the Center's other Principal Investigators and researchers to manage the center's projects. The MDSC is a collaboration between engineering, natural sciences, and social sciences research labs at UC Davis. The center uses cutting-edge empirical research, novel modeling efforts, and corporate and media engagement to support transformational change mechanisms to decarbonize industrial materials manufacture, materials use, and materials waste handling in the United States and across the planet. Approximately 50% of the Program Manager's time will be focused on providing administrative, operational, communications, and fundraising services and the other 50% will be focused on supporting in the management and lead the execution of specific research projects. We are looking for a detail-oriented team player with ability to set priorities and work with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental environmental engineering, environmental science, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.1-3 years of administrative support and/or support or project coordination experience and a proven track record of excellence in administrative and logistical support.1-3 years of experience in decarbonization, climate, materials, or environmental fields.Excellent computer skills in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar.Excellent writing skills, and strong work ethic-highly motivated to go above and beyond a job description to support the team as needed, including a willingness to take on any task or to take the initiative to develop a deeper understanding of policies or protocol in areas that will clearly benefit the organization's operationsAbility to plan and sequence tasks and projects; and to solves problems by applying professional knowledge or expertise within a disciplineAbility to handle a diverse portfolio of responsibilities simultaneously, with speed, accuracy and courtesy; and ability to juggle a broad and multiple demands.Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree in civil or environmental environmental engineering, environmental science, public administration, or a related field.Experience tracking milestones and deliverables to keep projects on track.Experience supporting fundraising efforts, including writing and formatting proposals, reports to funders and other written materials.Experience using project management or collaboration platforms such as Slack, Asana, Basecamp, etc.Experience developing systems and processes to increase organizational efficiency.Ability to efficiently and accurately analyze problems, gather relevant information, propose and implement practical solutions with varying levels of input from senior staff.Key Responsibilities
