The Director, Labor Relations is part of the Company's global Labor & Employment Legal Team and will serve as a strategic partner to Rivian's People Team and other key stakeholders, providing support and guidance on a variety of labor relations matters to promote a positive employee experience and ensure legal compliance. This role will report to the Head of Labor & Employment and collaborate with other senior leaders across the organization.Responsibilities
This is what you'll do:Serve as the primary point of contact for all labor relations matters, including union organizing drives, union campaigns, petitions, collective bargaining, mediation, arbitration and administrative chargesProvide day-to-day advice to legal, human resources, and business teams on abroad range of labor matters, including issue spotting, strategy, planning, compliance, and project executionMonitor employee climate to identify workforce opportunities and trends, and recommend proactive solutions based on business needs and best practicesDevelop and implement labor relations strategies and programs that support the company's business objectivesWork in collaboration with the People Team on the development, administration, interpretation and application of labor and employment policies and programsMonitor and analyze labor relations trends and provide strategic guidance on labor-specific issues to senior leadershipWork closely with business leaders to proactively respond to shifting business needs and associated labor implicationsEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulationsConduct training for management and relevant stakeholders on labor relations topicsCultivate a culture of collaboration, learning, and ongoing improvement within a cross-functional team
Qualifications
This is what you'll bring:Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field. Master's degree and/or law degree is preferredAt least seven (7) years of experience in labor relations, managing and negotiating collective bargaining agreements, handling arbitrations and managing issues related to union organizing drivesStrong knowledge and understanding of the National Labor Relations Act, including related case law and current trendsThe ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with employees, managers, and other internal and external stakeholders across varying levels and rolesAbility to be flexible in a fast-paced environment with limited direction, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects at onceExperience managing and completing complex projectsStrong leadership skills and capabilitiesOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to facilitate discussion with and present to executive leadership on labor relations mattersA commitment to teamwork, collaboration and professionalismThis is where you'll work:

Salary Range:$150,000-200,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
