AERMOR is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer II
to play a crucial role in ensuring the security of Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) information systems. This position involves implementing, managing, and maintaining cybersecurity controls, conducting security assessments, and supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes to protect critical Navy systems from cyber threats. The Cyber Security Engineer works in collaboration with other security professionals to identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure the overall security posture of Navy information systems.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage cybersecurity controls in accordance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies.Ensure systems comply with the NIST SP 800-53 and other applicable security standards.Support the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures for Navy information systems.Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk assessments to identify security gaps and risks in Navy systems.Use tools such as Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) and eMASS to track vulnerabilities and manage risk.Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies and corrective action plans to ensure system compliance with RMF requirements.Provide cybersecurity support during system development, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring that all systems are secure by design.Work with senior cybersecurity personnel and external stakeholders to provide reports and updates on the security status of Navy systems.Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity.In-depth understanding of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and other cybersecurity frameworks and guidelines.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.Must possess an IAM Level II certification, such as CAP, CASP+CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, or other relevant certifications.
