We are looking for a Senior Designer who will be responsible for design, managing all internal design project documentation and consultant coordination primarily within our Corporate Studio team as well as working with the design principal. Hendy's Corporate Studio works on an exciting portfolio of technically challenging and creatively inspiring work environments. This position requires a strong knowledge of interior architecture and the ability to coordinate design and intent with team members to produce a full set of construction documents. Strong work ethic, technical ability, and clear communication skills are a must for this position.
What you will do
Space Plan, develop Concept, Design Development and Construction Documents; Manage and review the production of document sets produced.Must have a general understanding of codes.Assist in selecting color, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey design concept, and to meet functional, socio-psychological and safety requirements.Create product design visualizations utilizing 2D and 3D software including SketchUp and Photoshop.Must have complete knowledge of the furniture process. Preparing budgets, selecting furniture, engaging and leading furniture tours and mockups, preparing bid documents, and specifications.Lead design presentations.Monitor and mentor junior designers.Coordinate with Design Principal, as well as internal Design and Production teams.Coordinate with clients, project managers, construction managers and others to develop design documents, construction details, field reports, construction documents, freehand sketches, responses to RFIs and queries.Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.Assist with preparation of construction documents consisting of plans, elevations, details, and specification.Be responsible for coordination and quality control of design for construction documents.Able to cross check scheduling and documentation.Help to coordinate and collaborate with allied design professionals such as architect, MEP, structural, electrical engineer to resolve design issues.Provide support in administration of contract documents, bids, materials, and negotiations to ensure completion and execution of projects.Participate in presentations for new business.Your Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design10+ years' experience including proven track record of leading the design of large-scale projects such as corporate headquarters, commercial or hospitality projectsProficient with AutoCAD & REVIT is a plusProficient with SketchUp, Illustrator, and PhotoshopDesired Certifications: CID, LEED AP, NCIDQ
