Would you like to join a leading law firm specializing in defense litigation, particularly in toxic tort and asbestos cases? Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Defense Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team.
As a Defense Litigation Paralegal, you will support our attorneys in all aspects of litigation related to toxic tort and asbestos cases. You will play a crucial role in managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting in trial preparation. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.Manage case files and maintain accurate records of all case-related activities.Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.Coordinate and prepare for depositions, hearings, and trial proceedings.Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts as needed.Track and document billable hours and assist in maintaining compliance with billing policies.Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop case strategies and timelines.Qualifications:
Degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.Previous experience with billable hours is a must.Minimum of 3 years of experience in defense litigation, preferably in toxic tort or asbestos cases.Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes.Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under pressure.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.What We Offer:
