Heron Finance is hiring an experienced individual to be responsible for RIA Business Development. You will be responsible for growing AUM by closing and nurturing relationships with RIAs. Heron offers a unique and innovative product. You should enjoy educating advisors not only on the product mechanics, but also helping them learn how the asset class itself (private credit) can benefit their clients. You have a strong network of independent RIAs who trust you, and are consistently nurturing and expanding this network. You are as comfortable actively pursuing new relationships as you are nurturing and growing existing ones. You love the hustle and pace of a startup environment, and are able to tolerate, and even enjoy uncertainty.
This role is full time, preferably located in the Bay Area or NYC. Open to remote within +3 timezones of San Francisco
What you'll be doing (i.e. job duties):
Generate sales of Heron Finance to independent RIAsEstablish, maintain, and grow relationships with alternative-focused RIAs, acting as a subject matter expert representing our company, platform, and investment solutionsBuild and manage a pipeline of RIA prospects, with realistic assessments on deal potential and likelihood of closingAttend conferences, initiate sales meetings, manage events, and be the external contact for Heron FinanceWork closely with the CEO and CIO to build and execute a sales strategyCreate and present educational materials for RIAs about Heron and/or private credit.Serving as an advocate for the customer in market to the product team, helping iterate on Heron's platformWhat we look for in you (i.e. job requirements):
Existing network of contacts within the RIA communityA minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with a proven track record of success in building relationships and driving sales with RIAsDemonstrated experience selling investment products, custodial services, and/or technology to independent RIAs and/or institutional investorsSeries 6, Series 7 or Series 63 required.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Curiosity-a hunger to learn and be challengedCollaborative team player while also possessing the confidence to execute independentlyEager to give and receive feedback freelyHonesty, persistence, resilience, and humilityNice to haves/strong preferences:
7+ years sales experience in the RIA space10+ years of total experienceSignificant experience in selling alternative investments and/or private credit productsExperience launching new investment products (e.g. ETFs, private funds, etc...)Startup experience
$150,000 - $600,000 a year
