Business Development / Salesperson
States Logistics is seeking an energetic Business Development Salesperson.
Generate logistics sales by procuring new customers through networking and prospecting, and through building relationships with business owners. Control revenue flows through pricing mechanisms, margin control, and superior customer service. Prepare presentations and deliver to interested parties and clients. Work closely with the operation groups (warehouse and transportation) and customer service to create logistics solutions and high customer satisfaction levels. Achieve defined sales goals as part of a coordinated sales strategy. Liaise with the transportation and warehouse operations teams to ensure all operational goals are met to customer specification.
This is a rare opportunity to serve as a Salesperson for an ESOP, where you will directly benefit from your sales efforts. This position would be based onsite at any of our Southern California or Phoenix area offices.
Experience Required:A bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.1-3 years account management experience in transportation, warehousing, packaging, third-party logistics (3PL) strongly preferred.Knowledge of manufacturers and shippers preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel.Ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills.Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed annual sales goals and objectives. Deliver sales results aligned with the company's service capacity and strengths. Prepare sales reports for management.Contact prospective customers.Works with the VP of Sales to complete the design of contracts including the scope of work development, assumption justification, operational plan development and pricing for new businessServe as a resource to solve customer needs including transportation, warehousing, packaging, rates for additional services and contract interpretationCommunicates regularly with assigned customers including attendance at performance review meetings, process improvement or correction updates, and new business initiativesWork with key stakeholders to determine rates for required services, and present proposals to customers.Meet with potential customers and develop customer confidence. Collect appropriate reporting and operational needs information from client. Manage each new account to ensure their service satisfaction while maximizing our relationship.Manage carrier performance as it relates to new business.Benefit Offerings:
