Stack AV
Staff Software Engineer, Multi-Sensor Calibration
Stack AV, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, us, 15289
About Stack:
Stack is developing revolutionary AI and advanced autonomous systems designed to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency of modern operations. Stack's autonomous technology incorporates cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and cloud technologies, empowering us to create innovative solutions that address the needs and challenges of the dynamic trucking transportation industry. With decades of experience creating and deploying real world systems for demanding environments, the Stack team is dedicated to developing an autonomous solution ecosystem tailored to the trucking industry's unique demands.
About the Team:
Stack's Calibration Team is comprised of world-class experts in state estimation and sensor calibration. The team plays a central role at the intersection of Autonomy and Hardware. The team is not only responsible for designing, implementing, and testing state-of-the-art state estimation techniques but also responsible for monitoring (and correcting) sensor calibration online with real-time safety guarantees.
We are seeking driven and enthusiastic software engineers to join the Calibration team at Stack. Our focus is on creating cutting-edge multi-sensor calibration pipelines for automated driving in the real world. Multi-sensor calibration is central to developing robust and safe autonomy systems. In this role, you will have the unique hands-on opportunity to design and implement scalable, real-time, and robust multi-sensor calibration algorithms. You will also be able to collaborate closely with multiple autonomy and operation teams.
Responsibilities:Own the design, implementation, and testing of one or more multi-sensor calibration pipelines.Collaborate closely within and outside the team (hardware, autonomy, safety, etc.) to gather and align sensor calibration requirements.Lead the development and testing of multi-sensor calibration algorithms, including one or more of the following calibration problems: Camera-Camera, Camera-Lidar, Radar-Lidar, IMU-Vehicle, etc.Contribute to the development of automated sensor calibration, and calibration verification algorithms in the cloud.Contribute to the development of writing safety-critical and real-time C++ onboard.Maintain existing software APIs and pipelines.Qualifications:
Strong understanding of classical state-of-the-art state estimation algorithms in one or more of the areas of SLAM, filtering, optimization, geometric, continuous-time state estimation, or geometric computer vision.Excellent performance-oriented C++ engineering skills.Experience with automated driving.Experience working with a GPU (cuda).Experience in Deep Learning pipelines.PhD (or 5+ years of experience) in state estimation fields, such as Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering.
