SUMMARY
Housing for Health (HFH) is a program office within Health Services Administration, a division under the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). HFH was created and put into implementation in support of the Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative recommendations in response to and in support of the County’s effort to address and combat homelessness in the communities residing within Los Angeles County. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees work both remotely and from the office, as needed.
This position will provide analytical support to HFH clinical teams as they work to house and improve the health of our clients who are experiencing homelessness. HFH clinical services are provided across DHS street medicine, interim housing, permanent housing, enriched residential care, and more.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Collection and Analysis Facilitates discussions with HFH teams and/or external partners to investigate data sources and build queries for data exportation Collaborates with HFH clinical providers to identify, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Supports with statistical analyses of health data for HFH clinical teams, constructing a comprehensive view of process and outcome metrics
Strategic Reporting Develops tailored reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, presenting key insights and metrics Generates ad-hoc reports providing snapshot views of program status and supports Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects Acts as a thought-partner for the clinical teams, finding creative and effective ways to reflect the value of HFH clinical programs and services
Tool Development and Maintenance Facilitates the design, build, and maintenance of analytical support tools to be used by HFH clinical staff members and by other external stakeholders Conducts regular quality assurance checks to maintain data quality and consistency Provides training and technical assistance on data management and data tools to ensure accuracy and completeness
Project Management: Convenes and facilitates discussions with stakeholders to design and implement tools and reports Supports with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and analysis tools
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate has experience working with a client-centric relational database. They are comfortable with using various tools to analyze large datasets and have taken the lead on projects where the best path forward is unclear. They are a seasoned and effective facilitator and mediator.
Education/Experience
Three or more years of highly complex administrative experience in the health, housing, social services, or related sectors.
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. Successful clearing through the Live Scan and the Health Clearance process with the County of Los Angeles. Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Strong communication skills for presenting data insights to stakeholders. Demonstrated Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R, Sas Viya) Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Ability to work with large datasets and handle complex data queries. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
