About the Team: The ZF Gainesville Quality Engineering Team comprises 15 engineers who provide support across multiple production lines, including rail gearboxes, transmissions, and steering and suspension components. ZF Gainesville has an opening for a Plant Quality Engineer, whose focus will be ensuring process quality for the transmission assembly line, which involves manual assembly processes. The plant Quality Engineer oversees quality control measures, collaborates with production teams, and implements corrective actions to maintain high standards in the manufacturing process.
What you can look forward to as a Plant Quality Engineer:
Manage Customer Warranty issues.
Perform internal quality investigations.
Manage 8D investigations or similar Corrective Action Process derived from Product and Process Audits, and from internal quality investigations.
Serve as Customer contact concerning quality topics; this includes completion, submission & approval of customer PPAP’s as well as ensuring customer-specific requirements.
Coordinate new project introduction (product & process) and launch activities to ensure adherences with company procedures, TS16949 requirements and customer expectations.
Coordinate regular project team meetings, reviewing progress in line with timing plan and ensures that the team members are kept updated on key project developments/timescale changes.
Identify and assign appropriate actions and deadline to ensure that customer, business and technical requirements are fulfilled.
Provide technical quality support to project core team and to support project team members with the creation of relevant quality documentation for each project –APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, etc.
Your profile as a Plant Quality Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
3+ years of experience (internship/co-op included).
Advanced knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering.
Working knowledge of product line(s) and engineering design principles.
Experience with engineering change systems.
Advanced understanding of engineering techniques and principles.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
Strong understanding for data evaluation and interpretation.
