Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and business challenges in the financial sector. The ICE Network Engineer provides leadership in network design, deployment, maintenance, and 24x7 operational support. The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism.

ResponsibilitiesSupport/Maintain multiple multivendor production network environmentsAssist ICE staff with problem solving and escalation proceduresDesign, deploy, and maintain mixed vendor network infrastructureUnderstand and follow operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to sameProvide technical knowledge needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes to the network infrastructureAssist with development of policies and procedures for maintaining network infrastructureCollaborate and work closely with Systems, Infosec, and Datacenter engineering teamsParticipation in 24/7 on-call rotation as neededKnowledge and Experience

5+ years of relevant experience including design, deployment, and support for large scale networksExtensive knowledge of two or more network operating systems/platforms including JunOS, IOS/NX-OS, EOSExtensive knowledge of Juniper MX/EX/QFX platformsExtensive knowledge of Arista switchesAdvanced MPLS expertise (RSVP, Traffic Engineering, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, MVPNs)Expert TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP routing skillsExpert packet capture analysis skillsExtensive knowledge of multicast design and troubleshooting including IGMP PIM and MSDPDeep understanding of NAT, route maps/ACLs, routing policies, and IPSEC VPNAbility to multitask and work independently on multiple projectsAbility to differentiate between a critical business impacting incident and a minor problem and resolve/escalate accordinglyStrong verbal and written communication and customer service skillsSome travel: 1-2 weeks per year, potentially internationalB.S. in CS/IT or equivalent relative experiencePreferred

Experience working on financial/HFT networksJuniper, Arista, Cisco, F5, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto advanced certificationAutomation and scripting experienceUnix/Linux system administration

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
