OverviewLifeway is seeking a
VBS Publishing Team Leader
who is responsible for overseeing the production schedules, workflow, and content development for Vacation Bible School (VBS) publications. This role ensures that all VBS content aligns with conservative theology and is age-appropriate, while meeting production deadlines. The leader collaborates with internal and external contributors to guide content creation across all age groups.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office position located within approximately a 2 hour radius of the Brentwood, TN area. #LI-Hybrid
Responsibilities
Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
Serves as the team leader, managing production schedules, workflow processes, and content development for the VBS publishing team and external contractors
Ensures deadlines and budget expectations are me
Leads editorial oversight for all VBS content, ensuring biblical accuracy in alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message
Ensures content adheres to style, branding, and age-appropriateness
Contributes significantly to annual VBS theme development
Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as marketing, media, and design to ensure consistency in VBS branding and timely product delivery
Partners with the VBS Specialist to train ministry leaders and engage with VBS customers through various platforms
Travel 8-10 times per year for meetings and training sessions, sometimes overnight
Significant travel in January each year
QualificationsEducation required
Bachelor’s degree in Bible, theology, Christian education, English, or communicationsMaster's degree seminary MRE, MCM, MM, M.Div,

5 years local church staff / denominational experience
5 years editorial experience
Strong self-management and time management skills to meet deadlines
Knowledge of Christian evangelical faith and theology
2+ years budget management
Intermediate editing skills
Training skills (in-person/virtual)
Speaking, writing, social media and conference leading
Educational curriculum development
Member and actively involved in a Southern Baptist church
