Project Delivery Leader, Highways

At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Delivery Leader in Transportation to support existing clients and support the development of new clients and efforts firm wide. As a senior member of our Firmwide development team, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation, primarily focused on project across RK&K's overall current and new service areas. Join our one profit center team as you perform a wide variety of transportation/highway planning and engineering tasks, including; developing/analyzing alternative solutions, overseeing talented and professional staff, and leading highway planning and/or design projects. The individual must have a clear understanding of AASHTO, and local state/municipal design criteria. Coordination with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff will be required.This role can be remote with required travel as needed to the project location.Essential FunctionLead transportation planning and/or design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environmentMentor junior engineering and technician staff on transportation planning and/or design taskUnderstand and apply Highway Design Standards, and other highway design manuals and guidelines to transportation projectsProduce construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimatesExcellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work in a team environmentServe as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on a variety of transportation related projectsFacilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plansDirect project staff and sub-consultantsServe as liaison between client and firmParticipate in Business Development and Marketing to secure future clients and workload
Required Skills and ExperienceBS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering programTen (10) + years of experience in civil engineering design with a focus in transportation/highway engineeringProfessional Engineering Registration (PE) or ability to obtain within six (6) monthsExpertise in Microstation / Geopak / InRoads/ Open Roads and/or AutoCAD / Civil 3D and proficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience with federal, state, and local government projects
Preferred Skills and ExperienceAlternative project delivery experienceExperience with working in multiple states
