About the Position:Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Business Development Sr. Specialist is responsible for acquiring partner relationships as well as maintaining good standing relationships with existing clients/partners.

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for acquiring and developing strategic business relationships for Maverick.

Prospects, recruits and develop new sales partnerships (Agents/ISO’s/ISV’s/Strategic Partners) primarily via self-generated leads by utilizing cold calling, professional networking, and personal connections and resources within the candidate’s network.Moves prospects through the sales pipeline and secure agreements or contracts. Engages with and closes inbound leads using consultative selling best practices.Acting in partnership with Department Leadership and Company Legal personnel, negotiating new contracts with business partners.Understand and present promotions, tools, tech that meet partner’s needs. Presents tailored solutions or proposals that address those needs and provide value to the prospect.Negotiates partner rates or terms using expertise and independent judgement to meet the prospect's needs while ensuring profitability for the company.Attends conventions, conferences, and other industry related events to engage new prospective sales relationships.Continue to engage with clients to ensure satisfaction and potentially negotiate renewal rates to ensure retention of services in the future.Maintaining close relationships with partners of Company.Managing updates or changes to existing relationships, promoting satisfaction with Company’s services.Develops and maintains close relationships with premier client business leads.Acting as an escalation point to resolve unique or complex business development issues that do not have standardized solutions.Provides support in the training and development of new Associates as directed by leadership.Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.Minium of 5-7 years’ experience in Sales or Business Development positionExperience in the merchant service or payment processing industry.

Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Microsoft Excel.Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to analyze, test, assess and /or interpret information or data to make recommendations to enhance business operations.Ability to thoroughly review multiple pieces of information/data in a logical, systemic, sequential manner, in order to identify errors and/or confirm accuracy of such information/data.Ability to make decisions and solve problems involving varied levels of complexity, ambiguity, and risk.Ability to work autonomously while producing a high output of quality work.Possesses a high degree of trustworthiness and ethical behavior of an individual with consideration for the knowledge one has of the impact and consequences when deciding or taking action.Demonstrates a level of credibility and concern that one be perceived as responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.Ability to ensure that one's own and other's work and information are complete and accurate.
