Ten miles from the SAIC headquarters, our Chantilly, VA team supports systems development, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration and more.
This position is for a Ground Software System Engineer for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Ground Software System Engineer oversees developer software development progress and provides support to the customer’s execution of the Program with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:
Role Responsibilities
This position is for a Ground Software System Engineer for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Ground Software System Engineer oversees developer software development progress and provides support to the customer’s execution of the Program with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee requirements/CONOPS development activities, with particular focus on leading multiple program office & developer teams in interfaces definition/updates
Track and report Agile software development progress using Agile metrics, trend analysis, and capacity estimating validation.Compare progress metrics with program schedule, financial and EVM reports.
Assess developer test approaches and serve as Customer Witness to integration, verification, and validation tests.Report results to the Program Office team.
Coordinate Program Office team involvement in assessing Developer system engineering designs and readiness.
Identify and promote best practices to improve effectiveness of Program Office processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Experience with the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense Program Office best practices.
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
At least 3 years experience working on a Government or Commercial satellite program.
Effective interpersonal skills (across multiple groups, offices, and organizations) and strong briefing and writing skills.
Ability to communicate to a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of programmatic and technical expertise.
Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.
Desired Qualifications:
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification or similar.
System engineering requirements development experience.
Software test experience.
Familiarity with DevScOps principles and technologies.
Availability to travel to West Coast during quarterly extended week-long test events.
