As the
Senior Product Marketing Specialist,
you will serve an integral function on the team, ensuring the relevant product information is distilled and paired with the right marketing segment manager at the right time.
In this position, you will facilitate the collaboration between the marketing department and product management including maintenance of the annual product marketing calendar, designing product value propositions, distilling competitive intel, and developing product marketing assets for the go to market team to empower sales to better serve our customers. You will serve as the strategic point of contact for Product Managers within the Marketing team to ensure alignment between the product roadmap and the GTM Marketing strategy plans.
This position reports to the Associate Director, Marketing and will work a hybrid schedule (Two days in office, and three days from remote home office) from our Riverwoods, IL office.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Be the strategic point of contact for Product Managers within the Marketing team.
Collaborate with product team members to understand the product vision and strategy.
Manage and govern the product marketing calendar to ensure it’s up to date, accurately reflects the latest product roadmaps, and is completely filled out with the strategic info needed for Marketing to begin planning.
Distill the information provided within the product marketing calendar for the Segment Marketing Managers so they understand what’s new/changing, the value and benefits to our customers, timing, use cases, targets, etc. in order to craft strategic GTM plans.
Partner with product managers to identify and develop distinctive value propositions, Features & Benefits (FABS) charts, personas, use cases, battlecards and other collateral tailored to each product to support Sales and Marketing GTM efforts and enhance campaign effectiveness.
Learn and gain a deep understanding of our key segments, personas, industries, and products to provide strategic input and guidance to both product and marketing stakeholders.
Facilitate the drafting and updating of sell sheets and queries from Segment Marketing Managers related to product, including assistance with content marketing assets
Work with the AD of Marketing to set priorities, identify potential hurdles, share progress, and accomplish mutually agreed-upon goals.
Interest and willingness to provide suggestions that improve processes and outcomes.
Seek stakeholder feedback to uncover new needs, gain deeper insights, and be able to recommend solutions and/or changes
Coordinate and work with cross-functional teams on major product launches.
Proactively research the target market and buyer persona, and digest the available Market Research, competitive intel, and NPS survey results to strengthen your product knowledge and strategic perspective.
Be the expert and go-to person for your initiatives.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 3-4 years of product marketing experience
Clear and effective copywriting techniques.
Experience with content marketing (Case Studies, Whitepapers, Webinars).
Salesforce or CRM working knowledge
Competent working across multiple channels and managing multiple projects with varying degrees of priorities and people who don’t report directly to you
Competent in Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with a project management software is preferred. (Ex. Workzone, Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Forms)
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
Pragmatic Marketing Certification is preferred.
Proven ability to govern process.
Proven ability to work well in a matrixed organization and effectively influence and manage cross-functional people who don’t report directly to you.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Background in design and copywriting is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
