Software Engineer Consultant/Expert #1008166Job Description:Candidate is Required to be On-Site Software Engineer/Consultant expert position for the Product Engineering and Management GDIA team to support Connected Vehicle Product lines in software development of high priority products.This position will be for a Full-stack Software Engineer.Actively develops and refines a software product that delivers business value Uses unit tests to drive design of application, confirm functionality, conformance w/nonfunctional requirementsDevelop across entire software stack (browser, mobile, server, database) using multiple programming languages Work across multiple product teams to deliver software.Practice paired programming Automate continuous integration delivery pipeline Support production software operation and incorporate learnings into future software featuresDevelop software w/a paired partner to deliver code that contributes to a valuable working software product.Develops automated unit tests with working software to confirm software functionality conformance to functional and non-functional requirementsPerform exploratory testing to confirm application execution to identify software deficiencies not covered by automated testingReview continuous integration build status and fixes build failuresReviews ongoing production software operations and troubleshoots production issuesDevelops automated functional tests to confirm user story acceptance and to detect regression defectsImproves continuous integration tooling by automating manual processes within the delivery pipeline and improving quality gates based on past learningsImplements tooling that monitors application performance metrics and automatically notifies team when a failure occurs in productionActive participant in all team agile ceremonies: Backlog Refinement/Iteration Planning Stand-up Iteration Close and RetrospectiveSkills Required:
Self-motivated and ability to build great software in a fast paced, and dynamic environmentDemonstrated ability to automate unit/integration/UI testing scenarios. Experience in building high performance distributed systems solving large scale engineering challengesMeaningful experience in building microservices in Java and Angular/React/Java ScriptUnderstanding of databases like MSSQL, Biq query, Postgres, NoSQL, MongoDB etc.Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms (ie: GCP, AWS, Azure)Hands-on experience on Java, Springboot, Angular, React JS, GCP SQL./ Kafka / PubsubStrong in Software Programming/Engineering with a good understanding of DevOps(Jenkin, Tekton, SonarQube, FOSSA, Cloud Monitoring, Dynatrace) tool and GitHub etc.Working knowledge and experience in transportation and automotive.Respect and empathy for team members, business partner and product customerEffective communication skillsPractitioner in 2 coding languages or advanced practitioner in 1 coding Language Comfort level developing in all tiers of application software: front-end, mobile, back-end and database. Advanced knowledge of software design patternsKnowledge and practical experience of agile deliveryLeadership experienceDemonstrated ability to delivery product roadmap milestoneSkills Preferred:
Experience building full stack applications, Deep understanding or computational fundamentals( e.g. algorithms, operating systems), REST/RESTful API experience, TEST DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT (TDD).Exposure to cloud and GCP tool/technologies will be an added advantageExperience Required:
5+ years experience in Software Engineering.Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a combination of education and equivalent experience.1+ year experience with developing for and deploying to cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, PCF, Azure)Implement and optimize cloud services and tools (e.g. Terraform, BigQuery, GCP)Experience in development using combination of the following technologies:
Languages: Java / JS / TS / PythonFrontend frameworks: Angular / React /Kafka / Pubsub /PostgresBackend frameworks: Spring / Node
Proven experience understanding, practicing, and advocating for software engineering disciplines from Clean Code, Software Artisanship, and Lean including:
