SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR I Full Time Days

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Designs, implements, maintains and administers day-to-day operations of a large scale server infrastructure comprised of both physical and virtual servers. This will include building servers from customer/vendor provided specifications. Works with the team to deploy, monitor and maintain servers and applications. Implements, configures and supports the VMware suite of applications.

Associates Degree Required.
Degree:
Degree in information systems or related field preferred.
License/Certification Required:
Certification in the VMware product suite is preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
2-5 or more years of experience required; Experience in systems administration preferred work experience required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Expertise in administration of the following: Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Exchange, WSUS, VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon View. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to communicate with others effectively no matter their computer skill level. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex server issues. Ability to self-motivate and self-learn.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consider the quality of the work tasks required and how the quality of performance impacts the program, function or care this position must demonstrate.Builds and configures systems per customer/vendor specifications. Evaluates and installs server and system updates in a timely manner. Monitors systems for operational integrity.Analyzes and troubleshoots server and system performance issues. Assists the Sr. Systems Administrator with configuring and maintaining the VMware vSphere server clusters.Assists the team with planning and implementing Enterprise computer and storage resources. Assists the Sr. Systems Administrator with configuring and maintaining the VMware Horizon View virtual desktop environment.Monitors performance of the VMware product suites. Monitors performance of the Enterprise storage systems. Monitors and maintains system backups.Assists with the development and maintenance of system documentation.Assists the Sr. Systems Administrator with configuring and implementing enterprise antivirus and device encryption systems.Works with the Network/Systems Manager and the Sr. Systems Administrator to ensure overall reliability and performance of the Enterprise computer systems.Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.Consults and collaborates with users throughout the hospital and accurately evaluates requirements for identified needs. Effectively plans projects and coordinates tasks for implementation of data networks based on consultation to effectively meet user needs.Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous, friendly, manner as measured by management observation and peer input.Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
