Summary:
The Senior Program Manager will analyze gaps, recommend changes, and implement ongoing improvements in the way workflows are managed and processes associated with the Penn Medicine web presence and digital marketing for Penn Medicine. This includes processes for creating and updating web content and digital marketing campaigns, how progress is communicated and defined, how the work is organized, how skills are aligned to the work, and how operational efficiency improvements are measured.
Working collaboratively with colleagues within Penn Medicine's marketing department, the Senior Program Manager engages and organizes subject matter experts and cross-functional groups to collect input. They oversee the in-depth analysis of existing workflows, create process maps to define existing processes and identify areas needing improvement. The Senior Program Manager introduces new business processes to the organization and produces documentation, identifies tools, and training to support adoption.
To be successful in this role, an ideal candidate will have knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Agile, Kaizen, Lean, and Design Thinking, and will have experience successfully implementing business process and workflow transformation efforts within other complex organizations and have an in-depth understanding of digital marketing workflows. Knowledge of and competency with project management and workflow tools such as Asana, Trello, and documentation tools such as Notion or their equivalent required.
The position reports to the Corporate Director, Web Strategy and User Experience.Responsibilities:
Design processes and workflows related to the intake, prioritization, and execution of web projects and digital marketing tactics.Continuously improve processes related to the planning, implementation, and optimization of digital marketing.Design methods and channels to improve transparency and communication of progress against key projects and initiatives.Management of budget, scopes of work, and relationships with external design and content agencies.Management of annual budget and resource planning.Lead digital marketing quarterly planning, bi-weekly sprints and retros.MANAGEMENT - Oversight of operational budget of over $800,000 - ensuring that external vendors and contractors produce solutions that meet Penn Medicine's standards at a rate that conforms to industry norms. Partner with team leadership to create and communicate an annual work plan with defined goals and priorities. Be an expert in communicating divisional priorities.Direct or indirect management of one or more direct reports or contractors; fosters the development of junior staff and guides their delivery and mastery of digital strategy and project management. Be a mentor to Jr team members.Work with subject matter experts to document new work, help estimate budgets and liaise with the appropriate web team members and vendor partners to document requirements.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Stays abreast of health care, marketing, and technology-related issues to serve as a knowledgeable leader and system resource Maintains skill levels in technology tools required to perform job requirements.Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and proceduresOther duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organizationEducation or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor's degree. (Required)8+ years of working in related field. (Required)5+ years of experience in project management, product management, digital marketing, and/or business process management. (Required)Master's degree. (Preferred)Previous experience in the tech industry. (Preferred)Skills/Abilities:
