Your Responsibilities

Brand & Strategic Initiatives Planning

Works closely with cross-functional partners to represent brand priorities and positioning, develop project plans for key strategies, and align key stakeholders to meet deadlines.

Identify consumer and owner opportunities and develop brand plans to set the strategy for product and guest experience and tactics to evolve the brand value propositions.

Leads brand building and new brand launch activities including positioning agency management, brand concepts for research, brand support plans, and cross functional level management in collaboration with Sr. Directors.

Business Management & Performance Analysis

Monitors and tracks performance for the brand and its competitors to include directing cross-functional teams in custom analyses designed to track initiative success, for key committee meetings, and/or identify new opportunities to ensure brand goals are achieved.

In partnership with Sr. Directors, owns development and maintenance of brand economic models.

Partners with cross-functional experts to strategize ways to improve key performance metrics including net unit growth, occupancy, room rate and cost to operate.

Contribute to the development of executive-ready deliverables that detail the drivers of brand performance and present business cases to strengthen the brand’s competitive position.

Brand Champion

Acts as the Brand Champion across Choice Hotels departments, including Development, Finance, Marketing, Openings Services, and Design & Architecture to represent the brand, review development materials, and maintain brand integrity throughout the sales planning and execution lifecycle to drive strong pipeline growth and openings.

Acts as the Brand Champion with franchisees, including development and presentation of the brand sessions at Convention, developer presentations & events, and with owner associations.

Prepares and delivers professional and effective communications to convey brand strategy, brand initiatives, and brand performance to a variety of audiences, utilizing a variety of tools and methods (e.g. presentations, spreadsheets, videos).

Special Projects

Execute special projects across the Core Brand Strategy organization as needed.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required; however, Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Must have at least 7 years’ experience in brand management, strategy, or management consulting.

Experience in hospitality or a multi-unit franchise organization strongly preferred.

Strong track record of success in translating organizational strategy to business plans and execution, including building business cases, gaining internal/external support, and directing results-oriented implementation.

Strong business acumen; proven success in collaborating with business leaders across organizational lines to ensure a solutions-focused approach to supporting achievement of corporate business objectives.

Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to collaborate and develop relationships with associates at all levels and to drive results in a team-oriented environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create clear messaging across a variety of audiences.

Proven strategic agility and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Demonstrated competencies to include driving for results, persuasion, and ensuring accountability.

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the report to the Senior Director, Foundation Brands and the Senior Director, Upper Midscale Brands. You will have multiple peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our Brand Director, Comfort and Value Hotels, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).

The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
