This is an opportunity to join a strong Chapter team and work closely with staff partners, local leadership, regional and national colleagues, and an outstanding group of volunteers to increase the reach and impact of the Northern California Chapter. The Chapter plays a vital role in the organization's success and currently includes a staff team of 13, a Community Board of Directors, and volunteer leaders who are actively engaged and passionate supporters of Breakthrough T1D.
Under the direction of the Development Director, and through collaboration and coordination with national and regional teams, chapter staff, and volunteer partners, the Sr. Development Coordinator serve as support on the Chapter's annual Signature Events, including Gala and Tee to Table. This position works closely with volunteer leaders from the Gala and Golf Committees, and plays an active role in organizing, coordinating, implementing, and helping to expand assigned activities within the Signature Events team.
The Sr. Development Coordinator oversees all aspects of Gala and Golf auction procurement efforts and works within multiple databases and spreadsheets, so incredible attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are a must. Additionally, the Development Coordinator collaborates with the entire Chapter team to support all programs that enhance the impact of Breakthrough T1D's mission.
This is a remote position. The individual
must live in the Northern California Chapter territory . The expectation is that staff will be available for regular in-person meetings and other in-person gatherings.
Responsibilities
Helps to identify, solicit, recruit, and develop volunteers for the Gala and Golf Committees. Assumes responsibility for key development initiatives in partnership with all appropriate team members. Identifies areas that require improvement to ensure the success of each committee.Oversees and strengthens strategy for all aspects of Gala and Golf auction procurement.Manage all day and evening logistics for Tee to Table golf event.Serves as the main point of contact for Tee to Table Committee members regarding their auction solicitation efforts, as well as coordination of auction winners and item donorsServes as the main point of contact for assigned Gala and Golf vendorsOrganizes post-event auction stewardship.Manages vendor meetings/scheduling pre and post event, contracts and invoices, processes and tracks payments, enters expenses into database.Plans and coordinates meetings, agendas, and activities. Prepares presentations, materials, and reports.Attends Gala & Golf committee meetings.Assists in the functioning of the Chapter's daily operations, projects, and tasks.Manages and maintains accurate and complete financial records pertaining to Gala and GolfManages a small portfolio of donor and volunteer prospects.Responds to and follows through on inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner. Accountable for meeting deadlines, responding to volunteers, and department requests.Strategically and consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficiency and effective tracking of donor pipeline.Collaborates with national/regional staff resource teams and other Breakthrough T1D chapters to discuss best practices and share ideas.Supports and maintains the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of Breakthrough T1D. Understands the strategic direction and purpose of the organization and supports the Chapter's fundraising strategies and business needs.Maintains a solid understanding of Breakthrough T1D's mission and research efforts.Follows all SOPs, guidelines, and policies from both National and the ChapterSupports other fundraising events, chapter activities, and programs as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of successful fundraising/event experience or relevant business/volunteer experience.Experience with event planning logistics, vendor relations, volunteer management, and committee development.Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines under pressure, problem-solve and effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Must be a self-starter while also being collaborative, enjoy working on a team, and adaptable.Strong verbal and written communication.Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Ability to build rapport with participants, donors, volunteers, and the public.Experience with computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Salesforce, WordPress, Greater Giving, preferred.Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources, planning, and resource allocation, as well as ability to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence, manage files and records, and coordinate other office procedures.College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to travel within the Chapter footprint. Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Target Pay - $58k - $62k
