Onsite A manufacturing company in Richmond, VA is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. This role will be critical in overseeing quality control processes and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, such as HACCP, SQF, and FSMA standards. You will manage day-to-day quality operations, including overseeing the QC lab, conducting inspections, and ensuring that production adheres to the highest standards. Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities: Develop and manage the HACCP program to ensure regulatory compliance Oversee daily operations in the QC lab, including supervision of one direct report Conduct blend retention checks, receiving approvals, and pre-op inspections Perform routine environmental, product, and finished goods checks to ensure quality standards Manage the SQF documentation and procedures, including monthly meetings and audits Handle quality incidents and customer requests regarding vendor documents, product specifications, and traceability Process and approve internal and external labels for products Collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and other departments to ensure smooth communication and compliance Conduct inventory checks, sanitation audits, and hazmat inventories Ensure compliance with metal detector checks and maintain related documentation Lead end-of-day cleanliness inspections and swab testing Quality Assurance Manager Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance role in a manufacturing setting Bachelor's degree (preferably in biology, chemistry, or a related science field) Strong knowledge of HACCP, with experience in implementing and managing HACCP programs Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas) and familiarity with ERP systems Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments Ability to assert authority when necessary to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards Experience in food manufacturing is preferred but not required Supervisory experience in a QA environment is preferred but not required SQF certification and knowledge of FSMA regulations is preferred but not required Quality Assurance Manager Benefits: Competitive salary with bonus potential 401k plan with a company match Medical insurance, with 60% coverage of the employee premium Dental and vision insurance Paid time off: 2 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, and standard holidays (New Year s, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Good Friday, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day) Annual performance reviews and raises Supportive, family-oriented work culture with a focus on work-life balance and no micromanagement Apply Now!
