Position Summary/Objective:

The Network Engineer is responsible for helping to design and maintain the infrastructure for data, voice, and video for the organization at all locations. This technical position will help with developing standards, documenting best practices, providing system monitoring and is the top tier operational support person. This position will also mentor staff members in continuing to help build enterprise networking skills.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions: Effectively monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot network issues - proactively identifying, isolating, and resolving network problems to reduce impact. Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF, and/or EIGRP. Maintain VMWare, Veeam Backup, and other similar system software. Assist with Disaster Recovery planning and maintaining the DR facility. Configuring firewalls, VPNs, routers, and other physical and/or virtual hardware. Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation. Proactively recommend and initiate network projects to benefit organizational objectives. Provide knowledge transfer to the team by proactively bringing awareness of new changes, future roadmap initiatives, and provide procedural documentation. Support Broadcast Technology related IT infrastructure including network switches, routers, and storage. Administer and support Office 365 E5 and accompanying apps such as Exchange, Teams, etc. Ability to think and execute under pressure, such as during an organizational outage. Must possess the knowledge and experience to lead a team to resolution using the resources available to the best of their abilities. Provide network support on game day and/or event day setups, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

Looking for 6-10 years of well-rounded professional experience in IT in the following areas with growing responsibilities over that time period: VMware/ESXI Administration and associated tools SAN Storage Administration Active Directory and Domain Services Administration Veeam or other infrastructure backup Administration Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) Experience in the setup, tuning and management of next gen firewalls Experience with Layer 2 technologies (Spanning Tree, VTP, 802.1Q, Dynamic/Private Vlans) Familiarity with Layer 3 routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) Knowledge of Wi-Fi security and authentication process Working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.

Ability to continually learn new technology, problem solve, and project manage. This will include if you do not already have experience with broadcast networks and streaming technology including supporting and designing networks which feed content and data to differing digital platforms. Strongly prefer a candidate with experience in cloud technology such as Azure, AWS, etc. Preference for a candidate with a strong background in supporting a Linux environment. Works well under high-pressure situations. May be required for after-hours projects and on-call duty. Able to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Experience:

6+ years of experience with network administration with increasing level of responsibility.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is strongly preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility .

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00PM.Work is both sedentary and active in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Office lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps and moderate noise levels .

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the building both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Travel

This position may require some travel.
