Description Lead the EnCompass Lighthouse team as a Program Coordinator to provide an academically-focused environment where all students feel safe and inspired to reach their potential. The Lighthouse serves students ages 10-17 who are in the care and custody of Monroe County, may not have an assigned school or be attending school. A skilled and supportive staff team builds positive relationships with students, provides academic and wraparound support during the school day and after school hours, and offers relevant workshops and enrichments focused on social-emotional learning and independent living skills. All meetings and programming take place at our campus location or in the community (no home visits).
Job Responsibilities:
Program Management
Ensure the Lighthouse program is implemented as designed. Support day-to-day operations by observing, participating in, and debriefing program events and activities on a regular basis. Foster an environment that is emotionally and physically safe for clients and staff through a structured model with clear expectations and routines. Facilitate intake, program, and team meetings to answer questions and remedy concerns. Develop monthly program calendar inclusive of student enrichments, special events, workshops, staff meetings, etc. Monitor program budgets to reflect and appropriately utilize relevant funding. Support Lighthouse staff in understanding and addressing youth behaviors, as well as the individual barriers and triggers. Provide guidance regarding best practices in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Represent Lighthouse with external stakeholders and at relevant community meetings.
Strategic Leadership Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Monroe County DHS; facilitate regular check-ins to support alignment and shared vision. Evaluate and reflect on program implementation and outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement. Recommend program adjustments that could deepen impact in alignment with student needs. Confer with other agencies and community resources to coordinate services, arrange appropriate referrals, and curate a network of providers. Collaborate with senior leadership to review and update the program logic model in alignment with organizational goals and sector best practices. Identify opportunities for internal collaboration and service layering. Work with Program Administrator and Data & Evaluation Manager to identify evidence-based program measures. Monitor progress toward articulated outcomes; adjust when necessary. Collaborate with the communications and development team to leverage appropriate grant opportunities; track and report relevant outcomes.
Staff Supervision Identify staffing needs; support recruitment and hiring, when appropriate. Provide 1:1 weekly supervision with staff. Assign students to the Caseworker and Academic Navigators based on each unique student profile and caseload size. Monitor and evaluate performance with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork. Offer ongoing professional coaching tailored to the role of each direct report. Identify appropriate external professional development opportunities to meet the needs of staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelors degree or 7 years of experience in social work, counseling, psychology, or relevant field. 3 years of experience working with systems-involved youth or teens in the Rochester area/similar city. Valid NYS drivers license Preferred Masters degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or relevant field Experience managing programs and developing and/or supervising staff Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
