Victory Seeks Marketing Manager to support Victory’s Communication EffortsJoin our team and help LGBTQ candidates win big!SummaryFor over three decades, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute have helped to train, place, and elect thousands of openly LGBTQ+ public officials at every level of government. Our leaders have been catalysts for expanding legal rights for LGBTQ+ people across the country, and they have transformed our nation’s policies and shifted our political landscape towards equality, one election at a time. Today, over 1200 LGBTQ+ Americans are serving in elected office due to the work of Victory. Victory’s work continues as LGBTQ+ people are severely underrepresented in all levels of government – serving in only 0.23% of all elected offices in the United States.LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute are seeking a Marketing Manager who will work directly with all members of the Communications Team and report to the Creative Director. The Marketing Manager will play a key role in the success of LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and Institute, working across teams to further the marketing goals of the organizations.General ResponsibilitiesWork with other team members and vendors to develop collateral used to promote Victory’s events, programs and fundraising efforts;Proactively seek opportunities to develop and provide new and/or updated marketing materials to teams across the organization;Create graphics for digital and print;Ensure Victory’s messaging and brand standards are used consistently on all external materials and digital platforms;Develop assets, copy and strategy for Victory’s digital campaigns, including emails, social media toolkits and digital ads;Write, edit, format and publish content on Victory’s websites, including candidate profiles, blog posts and program information;Proactively work to ensure website content is up-to-date and reflects the branding and messaging of the organization;Support Victory’s research efforts by designing and editing reports, and developing promotional campaigns;Identify and engage influencers and supporters to promote Victory on social media;Regularly evaluate key metrics of success and provide updates to the Communications Team.QualificationsBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, plus two to four years’ experience in marketing, communications and/or graphic design; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience;Exceptional writing, proofreading and editing skills;Up-to-date knowledge of marketing best practices;Keen eye for design and experience implementing and enforcing organizational brand standards;Understanding of social media and mass email tools;Interest in and knowledge of the LGBTQ movement and U.S. politics;Proficiency in the Adobe suite (particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign);Additional consideration will be given to applicants with video editing experience; knowledge of CRMs; and bilingual fluency.This is a union position.Position location is Washington, DC, preferred. The location of a candidate applying to the position and/or willingness of the candidate to relocate to the Washington, DC, area may be considered when making hiring decisions.
