* This is a Market-based leadership role responsible for our Houston market consisting of 8 hospitals throughout our North & South Houston along with our 800+ bed academic teaching, Magnet hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
* To ensure success in this role, the individual MUST have Healthcare Marketing experience within an acute care facility.
We are currently in search of a dynamic, passionate, and skilled Market Director of Marketing to join the Houston Market as part of the broader South Region team. In this pivotal role, you will be reporting directly to the regional marketing and communication leadership team and will be instrumental in shaping and executing marketing and growth strategies within our market. The Market Director, Marketing leads marketing and growth efforts for all clinics, facilities and services within the market, which includes the development and implementation of marketing strategies and plans. The role works in coordination and under the direction and alignment with the region and system marketing & communications leadership teams respectively.
Responsibilities
Works with market executives and leaders to establish annual marketing and growth strategies aligned with local strategic plans and overall market priorities.
Leads a market-based marketing team to oversee functions including consumer/patient engagement and retention, advertising, social media, and content development
Develops, implements, and monitors comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the goals and strategies within the respective market, the broader region and the enterprise as a whole.
Works with system and regional teams and associated agencies and partners to determine best opportunities for media placement across all services.
Develops and maintains detailed annual budgets reconciliation and tracking reports for marketing and communications spends.
Oversees marketing/growth programs and consumer/patient engagement efforts
Leads a lean market-based team of marketing managers and specialists.
Provides leadership and direction to the South Market marketing team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaborates with the Region and system marketing and communication teams to ensure consistency in communications, marketing, and branding efforts.
Tracks marketing and communications performance metrics and makes data-driven decisions to improve and optimize strategies.
Coordinates with other departments to ensure alignment between marketing strategies and company objectives.
Stays up-to-date on industry trends and developments and incorporates this knowledge into marketing strategies.
Manages and optimizes the marketing communications budget to maximize program performance and ROI.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
● Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing roles, preferably within the healthcare industry.
● Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
● Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans, including reputation management strategies.
Required minimum knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:
● A strategy-first mindset, with the ability to leverage market analytics, strategic intelligence, financial forecasts, competitive data sets, consumer segmentation, demand forecasting and media models to ensure that marketing and communication investments are prioritized, linked to financial/strategic targets and deliver the highest return.
● Strong understanding of healthcare trends, regulations, and best practices.
● Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various audiences.
● Excellent presentation skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
● Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
● Excellent interpersonal skills.
● Collaborative work style.
● Ability to work in a large geographically diverse system.
● Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to build, mentor, and coach a high-performing team

$56.83 - $82.40 /hour
