Overview

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Business Development associate will communicate the description and service feature of the Conference Center to targeted contacts by phone, in person or in writing. Learn all aspects of Sales Manager responsibility and gain experience with the goal of becoming a Sales Manager.

This position will be eligible for an incentive bonus which will be based on lead generation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Determining potential sources of revenue for the property, through targeted telemarketing and in-person qualification of companies or organizations that utilize resort hotels or conference centers for their off-site functions.Track potential lead sources, through on-going telemarketing and direct mail efforts, with the goal of contracting group programs for the property.Increase awareness within designated geographic market through continuous contact by phone, fax, mail and email.Supporting Sales Managers and Director of Sales in day-today, direct sales efforts with a clear objective of gaining experience.Participate in trade and industry functions.Responding to requests for information about all phases of public and/or client interaction.Prepares weekly activity reports for the Director of Sales.Make 30-50 cold calls per week.Map major accounts to determine multiple meeting potential.Book day meetings having function requirements with no rooms.OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by Manager.Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed.Stay current with Delphi trace list and account data.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent.College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.Working knowledge of a hotel.Previous experience in the hospitality industry.Highly developed communication skills.Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Publisher and able to learn the Delphi system.Knowledge of sales procedures and closing sales.

Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $25.00/Hr. - $25.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
