Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Network Services Manager for our IT Department, reporting to the Global Senior Network Services Manager.

The role is focused on ensuring that AECOM’s global IT infrastructure is secure, highly available, and meets performance standards and service levels to support the global business. Working within our network team you will be responsible for overseeing architecture and ensuring operational performance of our infrastructure.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work

Job Duties:

Ensure the high availability and performance of the global network environment, including coordination and oversight during planned and unplanned infrastructure system outages.

Drive process and service improvement initiatives across the global network.

Ensure high performance of service delivery from our managed service providers.

Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Participate in compliance activities to include tracking plans, coordinating testing and maintaining action plans for audits both internal and external.

Oversee all areas of network operations including, but not limited to, local area and wide area networking configuration, communications and telecommunications as delivered by our managed services partners.

In coordination with the PMO as appropriate, plan and direct the installation, testing, and operation of IT services.

As needed, participate in cross-function presentations and pursuits where technology is a key differentiator.

Work with Change Management to ensure all changes are properly vetted and approved before implementation.

Provide regular communications and updates both on technical strategic direction and tactical technical delivery and performance.

Proactively seek out ways to mitigate risk within IT.

Demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving of large or complex problems.

Ensure that all escalated issues are resolved appropriately

Develop and implement a global network strategy in line with the company’s goals and objectives.

To establish, develop and maintain credible working relationships with business contacts, being an ambassador for IT

To recommend opportunities, and to participate in the delivery, of activities that will improve overall user satisfaction and ensure continuous improvement.

Manage and oversee the global network budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.

Stay up-to-date with the latest network management best practices and technologies and ensure continuous learning and development of the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related discipline plus at least 8 years of network management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Experience in managing network security and compliance.

Experience overseeing extensively outsourced operations

Experience within a similarly large, complex, global organization

Experience working with global network and telco vendor

Experience in IT infrastructure and applications development; ability to understand IT and client technical requirements.

Experience in IT network architecture at enterprise level including exposure to the following technologies/concepts:

Cisco Routing and switching

Firewall configuration and operation

Load balancing

Data Routing, Traffic Shaping and Complex Network Topologies

Ability to work well with peers in a matrix structure.

Experience in IT Service Delivery.

Experience with network security protocols and standards.

Knowledge of network management software and hardware.

Experience with network troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced technical degree or related certifications in network management or similar fields such as:

Cisco accreditation

Palo Alto firewall management certifications

AWS/Azure certifications

ITIL certifications

DNS or DDI configuration and operation experience

Proven excellent customer service skills

Thought leadership related to technology and industry trends.

Experience influencing others including specialist peers and external parties to achieve success of team objectives.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present both technical and non-technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.

Proven teambuilding and influencing skills, integrity, and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address needs and challenges of AECOM business leaders and clients.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00.
