Job Summary
The Solutions Architect will serve as a pivotal team member in shaping and implementing our organization’s technology and business strategies. Under general supervision, analyzes requests and addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Responsible for technical solutions. Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. Responsible for the technical correctness and completeness of the integrated system design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Software Purchase Evaluation
Review and evaluate software deployments and integrations are aligned with OIT architecture, security and compliance standards.
Interacts with internal customers, vendors and procurement staff to gather technical requirements and consult with OIT staff to determine feasibility and approval for implementation.
Application Delivery:
Works closely with OIT Program Management and the delivery team to support implementation and operationalization of the required application according to OIT standards.
Works closely with OIT staff during implementation and delivery to provide expertise and troubleshooting as required.
Ensure that the implemented solution follows all standard OIT process and maintains a high-level documentation throughout the delivery process and hand off to operations.
Reviews proposed changes and makes recommendations as needed as part of the ongoing application lifecycle and OIT Change Management process.
Architecture Design:
Define and maintain guiding principles to ensure consistency and efficiency across the enterprise.
Establish and maintain the framework and processes for enterprise application lifecycle management.
Consult with stakeholders and peers on enterprise system design, procurement, implementation, management, and documentation.
Review and advise on designs of proposed, active, and completed implementation projects.
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate collaboration between different departments within the organization.
Establish and maintain standards for application documentation (runbook, playbook, functional specification).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Seven (7) years of related experience in IT.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in educational technology, computer technology or a related field.
Experience with network and application deployment in a higher education environment.
Knowledge and experience with deploying and managing enterprise applications.
Demonstrated experience working as part of a large project in an advisory or expert role.
Project management experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Articulate in written and verbal communication.
Professional listening skills.
Prioritizes, balances, and manages multiple efforts effectively.
Proficient in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship abilities.

Knowledge of and experience working with customer and industry-specific requirements
Knowledge of computing in a large enterprise environment including networking, PC support, cloud infrastructure, web publishing, database systems, and software development processes.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
