Cheshire Medical Center seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional with a skillset in both events management and donor relations to join the Philanthropy and Community Relations department.

The Development Specialist works closely with the Director of Annual Giving and other team members to oversee the planning of events; both fundraising and non-fundraising activities for the Cheshire Health Foundation/Cheshire Medical Center. This position provides strategic and creative oversight for a portfolio of events designed to achieve strategic fundraising goals to support the health and wellness mission of Cheshire Medical Center.

The Specialist collaborates closely with the Vice President of Philanthropy & Community Relations and other team members with our donors. These responsibilities encompass managing the donor relationship database, data entry, generating reports, overseeing donor correspondence, providing general support for fundraising activities and office management.

Experience with various types of events including those with fundraising goals and business sponsorships preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in event planning and promotion and donor relations. Experience in a non-profit setting and general knowledge of health care and health system operations preferred.

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and traditional social media platforms is preferred. Must be extremely organized, possess the ability to multi task and meet project deadlines. In addition, this position requires initiative, problem solving skills, and attention to detail. Experience with Raiser's Edge (RE) and web-based applications is highly desirable.
