The Role
We're excited to introduce you to this incredible opportunity to join our team as an Associate Director, United States Indirect Tax (IDT). This mission-critical role will provide critical tax operational support to Indirect Tax operations for the United States and will report functionally to the Global Indirect Tax Vice President.
As the Associate Director, US IDT, you will be the lead responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and indirect tax expertise across the indirect tax team. You will perform complex operational and technical indirect tax analysis and reporting for areas of responsibility. Your expertise will be essential in providing coaching, work coordination, guidance on issue resolution, and developing team skills. You will use problem-solving techniques, facilitate process execution, ensure auditability is maintained, implement plans to address exposures, promote improvements within the indirect tax process area and utilize agile methodology.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Oversee and work closely with our 3rd party tax preparer for Sales and Use Tax Compliance, Personal Property Tax reporting/payments, and Business License filing.
Support US states with ongoing compliance with all indirect taxation laws and regulations, including timely and accurate tax filings and payments, and ensuring appropriate indirect tax positions are taken.
Work day-to-day with external tax vendors, ensuring high-quality provision of indirect tax compliance services to the company.
Review external vendor work deliverables and output, including indirect tax returns and payments, tax accounting computations, and reporting.
Be very hands-on.
Collaborate with Kyndryl’s Business Units and Enterprise Support teams to ensure the facilitation and delivery of quality data critical for indirect tax compliance execution to external vendors.
Support tax authority reviews and audits related to indirect taxes.
Ensure compliance with Kyndryl’s Indirect Tax Controls Framework & Tax Policies and Procedures.
Provide high-quality indirect tax advisory support to Kyndryl’s business units and support functions, including working cross-functionally with Kyndryl’s Tax, Legal, Treasury, Finance & Accounting (including Shared Services Centers) teams to meet Kyndryl’s strategic and operational tax objectives and initiatives.
Manage all indirect tax legislation and controversy developments, including driving lobbying efforts and ensuring legislative and judicial developments are assessed and communicated to internal stakeholders.
Working in a globally integrated tax function with a strong tradition in innovation, you will possess strong teaming and communication skills and apply a collaborative mindset. In addition, you will continuously seek opportunities for process optimization, including identification of process weaknesses and driving solution implementation.

Required Skills and Experience:
10+ years of relevant US Indirect tax and/or tax accounting experience.
Strong communication skills.
Proficient use of technical tools programs required to perform responsibilities (e.g., MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). and experience with tools such as SAP, Ariba, Fiori, and Thomson Reuters.
Ability to meet all deadlines, prioritize workload, and utilize agile processes, methods, and tools.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Combination of in-house experience with a large multinational enterprise and relevant Big 4 experience.
Telecommunication tax skills.
The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $116,760 to $221,880 based on a full-time schedule.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California: $128,400 to $266,040
Colorado: $116,760 to $221,880
New York City: $140,040 to $266,040
Washington: $128,400 to $243,960
Washington DC: $128,400 to $243,960
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.

The Role
