The Radiation Oncology Program is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The area includes, three linear accelerators (including tomotheraphy), CT simulator, High Dose Rate brachytherapy unit, exam rooms, patient waiting area and office.
The program provides care to cancer patients of all ages who will benefit from radiation therapy. Nearly half of all patients treated have breast, lung or prostate cancer as their primary diagnosis.
The majority of radiation therapy patients are ambulatory and self-supportive. At the same time, we treat many inpatients who require intensive monitoring and services. Sedation/analgesia care provided as needed. The scope of care include: external beam radiation with intensive monitoring therapy, low and high dose rate brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery and total body irradiation.
Role Overview:
As the Radiation Therapy Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our radiation therapy department, ensuring high-quality care and optimal performance. Your leadership will drive the department's success and enhance the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Directs and manages the operations, services, programs and activities of Radiation Therapy.
Functions as a liaison and facilitator with physicians, administration, external agencies, and internal departments.
Oversees the coordination of resources and collaborates with leadership to ensure optimal quality care and operations are aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and philosophy.
Responsible for department service needs and volumes, program development, regulatory compliance, facility maintenance, and equipment.
Oversees The Queen’s Medical Center (Manamana and West) Radiation Therapy standard operating procedures, and regulatory and accreditation program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare, Radiation Therapy, or related field.
Master's Degree in business, health care administration or a health care related field preferred.
Current BLS certification.
Five (5) years progressive experience in a radiation oncology department or an oncology related field.
Two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.
Typical Physical Demands:
Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
Frequent: walking.
Occasional: stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of one pound up to five pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
Typical Working Conditions:
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
