This position also assists with outreach, marketing, and back-up support for incoming exchange students and other duties as assigned.

General Statement
The Office of International Programs ( OIP ) serves as Montana State University’s international gateway by facilitating connections, programs and experiences that bring the world to Montana and Montana to the world. Our mission is to enable students, faculty, staff, and communities to explore the international dimensions of learning, discovery, and engagement.
Reporting to the Study Abroad Manager, the Study Abroad Program Coordinator II is a critical team member in achieving the mission of excellent student experiences while growing the number of students involved in international education at MSU .
Duties and Responsibilities
Student Recruiting and Advising for outbound students
Support to Inbound students.
Credit transfer and international transcript evaluation
Study Abroad marketing and outreach
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience in program coordination or a combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Significant international experience (e.g. study abroad, employment abroad, Peace Corps, etc.)
Demonstrated experience communicating with a diverse group of people, especially in a cross-cultural, international setting.
Demonstrated experience organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional attitude.
Demonstrated experience using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, email and internet. Microsoft Office software preferred as well as experience with Adobe Suite software
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing programs.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Extensive customer service experience.
Experience relating to the administration of study abroad programs and/or within international education.
Experience in student advising and working with individual students.
Experience in professional writing for various levels of stakeholders.
The Successful Candidate Will
Commit to a level of customer service that assists prospective students in finding out more information about MSU .
Demonstrate excellent communication, problem solving and time management skills.
Work both independently and as part of a team while demonstrating innovative and entrepreneurial skill sets.
Develop rapport with and advise students, parents, faculty, and other professional colleagues.
Exercise good judgment and sound decision-making skills in applying policies and procedures and in dealing with a wide range of individuals.
Successful experience in a “first point of contact” role (e.g., answering phone calls, handling, and directing walk-in traffic, directing a diverse group constituent to appropriate information sources).
Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and competence prioritizing, maintaining, processing, and tracking detailed information with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail.
Represent the Office of International Programs and MSU to others in a professional and courteous manner.
Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours for scheduled events depending on department need.
This position may require domestic and/or international travel.
