Hospitalist Medical Director Opportunity in Western, NC
UNC Physicians Network, along with UNC Caldwell Memorial Hospital, is looking for a Hospitalist Medical Director (BC/BE daytime) to join our growing Hospital Medicine program in Lenoir, NC. Affiliated with UNCPN, this position involve coordinating a team of over 16 MDs and Advanced practitioners with the goal of delivering high-quality, team-based inpatient services. This opportunity provides an opportunity to run one of the most impactful hospitalist programs in Western NC and provides ample room for growth within the UNC system.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
75% clinical time, 25% protected Admin time
Coordinates attendance to important hospital based meetings including the Department of Medicine and Medical Staff meetings, with the goal of creating a team that is involved in hospital operations
Collaborate with in-house specialist to establish efficient workflows, communication, and interdepartmental collaboration
Help reach quality metric goals as identified by the UNCPN physician team and Caldwell Hospital Administration
Build a relationship built on trust and open communication with all key leaders in the hospital
Help build a team culture
Identify challenges and formulate solutions
Have working knowledge of CMI, LOS, Mortality, and other key hospitalist performance and efficiency metrics
Work collaboratively with the hospital CMO to ensure delivery of high quality care
Work closely with your dyad UNCPN leadership team to help ensure goals are collaboratively met along with UNC Caldwell Memorial Hospital

In house specialty backup available from Cardiology, Nephrology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Pulmonology, Podiatry, Urology

Requirements:
Active Medical License
Board Certified/Board Eligible
Over 3 years of inpatient clinical experience, with leadership experience preferred

Location in the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Northwestern North Carolina w/4 seasons!

One hour-and-ten-minutes travel time each to: Charlotte Douglas International Airport; the eclectic attractions of Asheville; the arts and history of Winston-Salem; and only 20 minutes to the North Carolina High Country and the mountain resort community of Blowing Rock.
