Growing nephrology team in Austin, Texas is looking to add another nurse practitioner to their team! Please see below for more details or contact with any questions.Responsibilities:Full-time permanent position - NephrologyWeekdays only - Monday-FridayNo nights and no weekendsMix of dialysis rounds and CKD clinic dutiesDiseases treated include: Chronic Kidney Disease, Acute Kidney Injury, End-Stage Renal Disease, Post-Kidney Transplant Care, Resistant Hypertension, Electrolyte Disorders, Polycystic Kidney Diseases, Glomerulonephritis, Lupus Nephritis, AmyloidosisRound on patients receiving hemodialysis twice per month for the dialysis units and shifts assignedManage patients with CKD stages 1-5, typically alternating visits with the patient s nephrologistManage anemia through the use of erythropoietin stimulating agents (ESA) and iron injectionsProvide CKD education for patients with advanced CKD, comorbidities, Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) options and end-of-life issuesDevelop differential diagnoses and collaborate with nephrologists to develop and implement plans of careCollect, order, and interpret lab work and diagnostic studies under agreed upon protocolsRecognize abnormalities and provide services and treatments as directed by protocols and nephrologists and make referrals to other healthcare-related disciplines and/or servicesQualifications:Previous experience as a nurse practitioner in nephrology or relevant specialtyPervious nursing experience in nephrology or primary care, internal medicine, etc.Texas Nurse Practitioner license and DEA licenseBenefits:Competitive base salaryHealth, dental, and vision insuranceFSAMalpractice insurancePaid time off401(k)Disability insuranceLife insurance
