The individual hired as the Associate Director, Payer Contract Analytics – National Accounts, within the Market Analytics and Business Insights (MABI) organization will lead the financial assessment of payer contracting via data driven payer level analysis across AbbVie’s contracted brands for key markets across key National payers for all channels of Contracting (Government and Commercial).

The individual in this role will work in a matrixed environment and partner with cross-functional partners including AbbVie’s Account Management team, Payer and Brand Marketers, Finance, & Business Technology teams to collaboratively achieve access objectives for the Brand and ensure access for AbbVie’s medication to patients in need. The core role involves financial analysis of payer contracts and presenting findings of analysis to drive optimized bid decisions.

This position is a leadership position and involves managing and developing 2 direct reports to ensure timely and accurate responses to Payer contract bids/ RFPs.

Conduct pre and post-deal analytics and provide recommendations for access that seeks to advance the objectives of the Brand/ Therapeutic area (TA), while optimizing the Brand’s Gross-to-Net.

Develop/ supervise and run deal analysis on both launch and in-market Brands to determine appropriate price/ volume dynamics that drive profitability

Support all channels of payer contracting including Commercial, Medicare Part D, Medicaid and other Government channels

Develop new and continually refine existing contracting models for to capture the ever changing Payer business model as well as therapeutic area evolution

Qualifications

Strong business and financial acumen – prior experience in Contracting with an emphasis on data and financial analysis would be optimal.

Requires the ability to work in a matrixed environment while demonstrating and aligning to AbbVie’s ways of working.

Strong knowledge of channel dynamics/ evolving policy changes and ability to translate this understanding into actionable strategies using advanced analytics methods.

Working knowledge of Tableau-based visualization tools to extract/ analyze data and communicate a story through insights.

Experience managing and analyzing patient claims data (e.g. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Health data) for Pharmacy channel products.

Robust understanding of pharmacy channel stakeholder economics, including Payers, Pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs),

Working knowledge of Medical benefit products economics such as ASP pricing, physician reimbursement and interplay between Pharmacy and Medical contracting.

Ability to develop insights and communicate effectively to influence executive level decisions.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required in Actuarial Sciences, Finance, Economics, or related field required

Master’s degree preferred in one of the above listed programs

10+ years in work experience in business consulting, data/ financial analysis type of roles, 4+ years of Market Access Payer Analytics and Contracting experience

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

Salary: $133,500 - $253,500
