POSITIONSUMMARY:
With the increased complexities ofdeveloping technologies, regulatory financial aid compliance, advanced businessintelligence and decision support, expanded University strategies (COM,Engineering, cost containment, etc.) and severe competition for enrollment at atime of constricting demographics, executive and expert level know-how isrequired for the integration and operationalization of EMG and university-widestrategy in support of enrollment and student lifecycle operations to meetenrollment goals.
The Director, under the AVP ofOperations and Student services, now assumes full functional responsibility forplanning, development, implementation, evaluation and management of data,analytics and business intelligence needs for the division and the executivereporting of enrollment management and other student data & reports;enrollment research across the higher education landscape lending to enrollmentstrategies and student success; and predictive modeling supporting whichconnects the student lifecycle and academic affairs program development.Supporting accountability in EMG for the development of, implementation,optimization, integration, and continuous improvement of operational andstrategic enrollment initiatives, the enrollment processes, practice standards,playbooks, and metrics needed will be developed by the Director. Supportingleaders across the university in optimizing enrollment to inform our strategy,collaborates with CTS, Academic Affairs, and other Student Lifecycle Servicesto implement initiatives, monitor metrics, forecast admissions funnels,financial aid budgets, and market driven enrollment demand, and improveefficiency to meet student outcome goals. Supports teams from EnrollmentOperations, Admissions, Financial aid, Student Services to ensure operationsand analytics integrations to ensure new students, returning students andreadmissions students are supported through their enrollment journey andprepared for success at Duquesne.
Serves as the leading expert and advisor on strategy and operationaleffectiveness integrations for the entire enrollment division, and ensures dataintegrity within and between all systems (including but not limited to Banner,Slate, Cognos, EAB, Power BI, Capture, WEAVE, SRAR, SCOIR, etc.)
Responsible for assessment of operational excellence, will ensure thehigh-quality execution of technology supported services for students, businessprocesses, data reporting and analytics. The incumbent will support operationalizingall aspects of the enrollment strategies and integrating processes fromprospect to matriculation and beyond.
The Director will be responsible for maintaining cross-functionalrelationships and the ability to develop appropriate strategy from research andanalytics. The incumbent must remaincurrent on best practices in applied enrollment management analytics andresearch to include the creation forecasting and predictive models, and ofsophisticated yet user-friendly reports and presentations.
The Director provides high level expertise and leadership for all analyticalactivities in the Division of Enrollment Management. manages strategic analysesand technical projects for the division, including BANNER, Technolutions Slate,and the Financial Aid and registration systems (Starfish). The Directorinterfaces pro-actively and effectively with other offices, including thecentral Information Technology Services (CTS) Registrar, Student Accounts,Senior Vice Provosts office, individual Schools/Colleges enrollment staff, etc.to promote the seamless use of technology through related systems across thecampus (e.g., Ellucian Banner). Serves as the primary business analyst for thedivision, translating operational processes into functional technologysolutions, and promotes a decision support and effectiveness-oriented culture.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Enrollment ManagementGroup as well as faculty, staff and other administrative leaders to develop andachieve the university's strategic enrollment goals. Monitors and reports onaccountability for the plan's successful execution and monitoring to ensuredesired effectiveness.
Works with the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management to create,implement, monitor and evaluate strategic enrollment plans, integrated with theUniversity-wide planning and forecasting systems, and through expert levelknowledge of technology systems operationalize strategy into effective EMGprocedures.
Advises the Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and otherUniversity leadership on national recruitment and admissions trends and thechanging enrollment landscape.
Benchmarks and analyzes competitors' recruitment, financial aid and scholarshipsstrategies.
Recommends, based on research and collaboration with other Universitycolleagues, annual cost increases, academic program development based on marketdemand research, new student enrollment objectives, discount rates and other specialenrollment initiatives.
Provides strategic level, data-driven analyses and presentations for avariety of audiences.
Remains knowledgeable of the national trends and best practices in allphases of enrollment management.
Supporting and establishing support for strategy execution andoperational excellence, will ensure the high-quality execution of technologysupported student services, business processes, data reporting and analytics.The incumbent will operationalize all aspects of the enrollment process fromprospect to matriculation and beyond.
Serve as the Senior liaison with Institutional Research to ensuredivision data are collected and reported correctly, especially as it relates toaccreditation and external reporting.
Serve as primary liaison to the University Data Governance Committee.
Provide for customized dashboards, provide daily/weekly standardanalytical reports needed as well as ad-hoc report requests, and research andprovide analytic support to key decision makers for feedback and improvement ofrecruitment strategies.
Help determine the realization of cost savings and other businessperformance metrics, ensuring success of new business processes and/or systemenhancements.
Develop and maintain predictive modeling tools that will help create asuccessful recruitment plan (graduate and undergraduate) needed to shape thestudent population, increase enrollment yields and improve selectivity.
Supporting integration of all systems and establishing assessment and effectivenessmeasures for the entire enrollment division, and supports data integrity withinand between all systems (including but not limited to Banner, Slate, Cognos,EAB, Power BI, Capture, SRAR, SCOIR, etc.)
Review existing technology systems (primarily COGNOS, POWERBI, Banner andTechnolutions Slate) instances to ensure the system supports all offices thatutilize the platform. This includes creating training documents and providingtraining to users based on their role within the system.
Identifyand implement new or unused features in order to achieve the system's maximumpotential.
Developand maintain predictive modeling tools that will help create a successfulrecruitment plan (graduate and undergraduate) needed to shape the studentpopulation, increase enrollment yields and improve selectivity.
Lead,design, and develop original research projects addressing enrollment managementquestions and issues.
VendorPartner Management and ROI analysis support - Oversee the evaluation andassessment and management, hiring and training of business servicesconsultants.
Providestraining and education sessions to the broader community and the EMG
Publishesand presents regularly to promote the reputation of EMG and Duquesne in local,regional and national forums.
Performsother related duties, Attends and assists with various admissions events (i.e.Duquesnefest, Fall Open House, etc.)
Supervises the work ofothers, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuringquality standards. Is responsible for hiring, terminating, training anddeveloping, reviewing performance and administering corrective action forstaff. Plans organizational structure and job content.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution and 8+ years of work-relatedexperience.
At least five years ofprogressive managerial in a systems technical operations, or financialaid/admissions/enrollment experience in an educational environment is required.
Valid driver's license ingood standing.
Preferred qualifications:
MBA, Ed.D, Ph.D. orother advanced certifications or degree in Higher education, Data Science,Educational assessment, business systems Computer science, technology,marketing automation, etc.
Experience in schedulinghighly preferred.
Proficiency withPC, Microsoft Office tools, email and the Internet with the ability to learn avariety of new technology systems; familiarity with Slate and Banner preferred.
