**This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in office from either our Seattle, WA or Atlanta, GA headquarters locations**

Role Mission

To enable Rent's mission to simplify the experience of connecting people & properties by fostering a data-driven culture where automated insights are leveraged to inform strategic decisions, optimize processes, reduce cost and enhance customer experiences.

Role Scope

As the Senior Manager of Data and Analytics in the technology team, you will spearhead the strategic direction of our data initiatives, transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business performance and innovation. Manage a team of engineers, analysts and support resources.

Role Expected Outcomes

Senior Manager in Engineering will be expected to consistently deliver outcomes in the following:Technical: Maintain a world class and modern data infrastructure and architecture ensuring a high bar for technical acumen and delivery.Strategic Leadership: Define and implement a strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring scalability and supportability of solutions. Build an actionable roadmap for the team.Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing analytics team, fostering collaboration, passion, and continuous learning.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams like product and marketing to identify data needs, translating business requirements into data-driven solutions. Being known by the organization as acting with urgency.Data Governance: Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organization. Ensure domains, views and marts are built for reuse across teams.Innovation and Insights: Drive innovative analytics projects that leverage advanced techniques such as machine learning and predictive modeling to uncover insights and enhance decision-making.Performance Measurement: Develop and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.

General (all languages)Deep experience in the data management and analytical tool space, and a history of applying the correct mix of solutions to solve business problemsDemonstrated success in managing and leading projectsExhibited success in the leadership, assessment and development of talent and has a demonstrated history of consistently improving and building teams.Demonstrated experience in presenting to and aligning with senior level management and gaining executive buy-in on strategy, roadmaps and investments.Proven track record of partnering with peers and other functions across the organization

Minimum5+ years' industry experience in data engineering, warehousing, and transformationExperience with cloud native development patternsHands-on development experience3-5 years of management/leadership experienceProject management experience

PreferredPrior experience working with SnowflakeExperience with ETL/pipeline solutions like DBt and/or airflowTrack record of managing budget and negotiating with external vendorsExperience implementing ML runwaysExperience working with the business on data designWorked with a publicly traded company or within a SOX environment
