The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated immunologist to join the Odyssey team at our Boston site. As a project lead, you will have responsibility in crafting drug discovery project plans from inception through to early clinical development and oversee a multidisciplinary drug discovery team to efficiently execute on the plan in line with Odyssey's goals. At Odyssey, project team leaders work closely and collaboratively with senior management to make decisions rapidly and achieve success.

Key ResponsibilitiesDrive the generation, evolution, and execution of research operating plans for drug discovery programs, including resource planning, risk assessment and contingency planningOversee a multidisciplinary team, taking responsibility for timely delivery on project goalsEnsure cross-functional alignment and organizational support for execution of the operational planChallenge assumptions, timelines, pressure test plans, create alternative scenarios to enable strategic and operational agilityIdentify bottlenecks, surface issues, proactively drive resolution, and lead contingency planning effortsDrive decision-making within a project team to deliver the highest value in shortest timeEncourage out-of-box thinking and creative problem resolutionDrive the application of leading immunological methods and approaches to understand disease mechanisms and therapeutic interventionsCollaborate with clinical teams to design and implement translational research strategiesCommunicate proactively with senior managementRepresent the program internally and externally with prospective partners and at scientific meetings and conferencesAbout You

Doctoral degree in immunology or related disciplineGreater than ten years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with at least seven years as a cross-functional team leaderA proven record of scientific accomplishment demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and leadership of programs that have entered clinical development in the immunology fieldBroad and deep understanding of drug discovery and developmentAbility to lead projects from hit-finding through candidate selection, as well as contribute to the validation of new targetsDemonstrated ability to solve complex scientific problems and push the boundaries of innovationAnalyze data critically and guide teams to make informed decisionsCritically and objectively interpret and evaluate competitive, business-related informationPossess excellent time management and strong communication skillsAbility to scientifically challenge others in a constructive mannerInspire, motivate, and mentor team members across the organization
